The triple threat of hot, fresh and delicious! I found the portions to be generous and the menu offered great variety; there is something for everybody. The restaurant has a unique vibe unlike any other in Edmonton. There's lots of memorabilia to look at for the hockey enthusiast. The leftovers I took home really hit the spot the next day.

We can't say enough good things about the food and service we rec'd at the BLUE WILLOW for our moms 94th Birthday celebration on April 5, 2025. We had 28 guests in the Red Room and Mr. Mah was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions. The Blue Willow is one of Edmonton's longest family run business and if you try it - you'll know why they've been around for 60 years.
The dishes we ordered for each table - S & S Pork, Ginger Beef, Cantonese Chow Mein, Shanghai Noodles, Egg Foo Yung, 2 x Lemon Chicken, Beef & Greens and Steamed rice. We especially like the Lemon Chicken and the Egg Foo Yung.

Held a birthday dinner for 8 adults and had a great time, owners and the staff were great. We had ordered about 10 items and each dish kept hot thru out the evening. Each dish brought it's own flavor and taste that brought a true authentic experience. 10/10.

Ordered years ago and wasn't impressed. Worst chicken fried rice ever i thought. Moved next door recently, started ordering more. At first ok, not great but not bad. Noticed the fried rice was much better so figured it was a one off. Still thiught theres better out there, but average quality for a bit higher price but convenient. Ordered the other night for 4th or 5th time and the crap quality is back. Soggy noodles, worst beef and mixed greens ever. Looked disgusting and grey and tasted worse, very unapitizing. There was a piece of chicken in the chow mein that was i think preserved from the fossil age or something. It's a shame as they are nice people and for me it's convenient because I save a good 10$ on delivery by walking over, but not blowing 50 to 70$ for inedible food. Put it this way, offered my partner half the leftovers when they went home and they pulled a face and said no. That's pretty bad when someone says no to free chinese food. This place is generally average at a price and not cheap but then can sink to barely edible. As I said nice people but for what they charge...I'm done. Just felt ripped off and honestly stomach did not feel good after (no drinking involved) Have passed by the dining room (looks nice but never ate there). I'd give the food yesterday a 2 but overall id give an extra 1 point for sometimes tasting good, but then take a .5 away for lack of consistency. So they get a 2.5 and because they are so nice and fast and because when the foods good it's tasty so they get another point. 3.5 from me. I'm sure if I ate there they'd get a four because they seem so nice. If you want quality chinese ordered to home id rather pay the delivery fee from now on and order elsewhere. Honestly to sum up I'd say it's a hit and miss place that's generally ok quality at an expensive price but without warning quality can drop to barely edible. For me I just am not willing to risk my hard earned money to order swill.

Went to the Blue Willow last night for the first time. It has a very old and extensive history with Edmonton. The food was fresh and beautifully presented. I recommend the ginger beef, best I've had in the city.

100% Recommend!!!
Our first visit to Blue Willow this evening. The service provided by Mr. Mah was extremely warm and welcoming. The dishes (ginger beef, BW chow mein, pineapple chicken and won ton soup)we tried were extremely tasty & fresh and well presented in the heated serving containers. The Blue Willow china was beautiful and we were even provided with hot towels to wash our hands at the end of the meal. Absolutely will be back and again, totally recommend!! The history and decor/location is fantastic!

One of the original chinese food restaurants in Edmonton. Superb food, old-school decor.

It was a good experience. They just need to improve listening to the customers through the phone to maximize client experiences.

This place is absolutely disgusting, not to. Mention very unclean, and also walked by. And there's some dead mice. But the restaurant is so lazy. They can't remove the mice in front of the door when you walk up. That's not what customers want to see.Nor do they want that near their food. Look at the photos.I will post in the photos. So you can see for yourself

The best Chinese food that I have ever tasted! Mr. Mah and staff put in an extra effort to welcome us.

Called in a pickup order got home and found no sauce for the spring rolls and no sauce for lemon chicken which is to bad cause the chicken was very dry and flavorless. Live 20mins east of sherwood park so no going back to pick up missed items. Don't know if I'll be back kind of bad first impression

Hadn't eaten here in years, and other than me living about 2 hours away, I will be going back a lot more often. The whole experience was great with a friendly greeting and fantastic service throughout the meal. The food was excellent with large portions.. things like the homemade sauce with pineapple and vegetables that isn't the usual fake red on the sweet and sour pork was fantastic. The little stainless warmers are a fond signature memory I remember from years ago. The place was pretty dead for a Friday night, and honestly, that is the only thing that should change!
