I want to express my concern following a visit my family and I made to your restaurant a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling uncomfortable, and I believe it’s important to share this feedback with you.

First, upon arrival we were asked not only to show our IDs but to have them scanned. This felt like an invasion of our privacy, and it set a negative tone for our visit. We understand that some establishments have security policies, but the process was not explained to us, and it made us feel uneasy.

Additionally, while our server, Taylor, was exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our meal, the overall service experience was disappointing. The food we received was poorly presented and not of the quality we expected. Because of this, we decided not to order additional dishes and ultimately left feeling dissatisfied.

We went here tonight for the first time and had the pleasure of having Hailey as our server. She was incredible. Made the experience top notch!! Thank you for how you paid attention to my MIL . She was over the moon!!!

Cactus Club Cafe Management,

I’m writing to express how disappointed we were with our recent visit to your downtown location. We chose your restaurant to celebrate two very special occasions my husband’s birthday and my daughter’s graduation. It was our first time visiting, and because of your restaurant’s reputation and atmosphere, our expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be extremely upsetting for several reasons.

1. ID Policy and Privacy Concerns
Upon arrival, we were asked not only to show ID but to have it photographed. This made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Verifying age is understandable, but taking a photo of our ID felt excessive and intrusive, and we regretted not refusing and leaving at that point.

2. Quality of Food
We started by ordering fries we had heard great things about, but they arrived extremely greasy and in a portion size that felt comparable to a Happy Meal. Then we ordered a bowl of rice with chicken—except it arrived without the chicken.

3. Lack of Support After an Accident
My daughter accidentally spilled her drink all over her white dress moments after it was delivered. Accidents happen, but what truly disappointed us was the lack of support from the staff. No one helped her, the spilled drink was left there for the entire evening, and the only concern seemed to be the wet seat rather than her comfort.

4. Inconsistent Desserts and Miscommunication
We were told the birthday guest would receive a complimentary “Volcano de Chocolate” dessert, which we appreciated. However, the two desserts arrived with drastic temperature differences my husband’s was piping hot while my daughter’s was cold, practically frozen. When I asked the manager, he apologized and explained the dessert is supposed to come hot from the oven. He then said they wouldn’t charge us for it, but this didn’t offer any real solution, since the dessert was already meant to be complimentary. It felt dismissive, and the cold dessert was never replaced.

5. Service
I want to acknowledge that our server, Taylor, was very kind and did her best. However, even with her efforts, the overall experience fell far below what we expected for such important celebrations.

This evening was meant to be special for our family, but instead it left us disappointed and uncomfortable. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as these issues affected not only the quality of service but also our trust in your establishment. We would appreciate knowing how you plan to address situations like this in the future.

We had an excellent experience at the Cactus Club! I recently took my mom here for a girls night out for her 71st birthday and we had a fantastic time! The service from the minute we walked in was great! From the hostesses to our server, everyone was super friendly and nice! The food was delicious as always and arrived in perfect time! I would highly recommend!

Pathetic experience
Extremely rude servers
Came here at 10 PM on a Saturday ! No tables, we requested to be seated by the bar !
A server named Rivers double checked if there were two seats and she got us seated.. 2 mins in, another server comes in and asks us to get up and leave as it was “reserved” no communication between the staff !!
Had to leave ! 0 stars !

I’ve eaten at Cactus Club’s right across Western Canada, mainly the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. All of them are consistent, great food, great service. This location I felt deserved a review. Josh and Nicole were absolutely fantastic, customer service is their number one priority. Plus as always, the food was delicious.

I ordered this last night for dinner through door dash as a treat for myself. I ordered the ravioli and crab dip. My order was on time yet my entire meal was ice cold, to add insult to injury the box of my ravioli wasn’t closed properly and there was ravioli and shrimp ice cold at the bottom of my bag. Thank you so much Cactus.

I ordered the steak with potatoes and salad — it was absolutely amazing! The flavor was unreal, perfectly cooked, and the price was very reasonable for such quality. Definitely one of the best places to enjoy a great meal in Edmonton. Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Every dish was well-balanced and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and considering the quality, the prices were reasonable.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. It’s clear they really care about both the food and the customer experience.
