Was in the Cask & Barrel last night. What a wonderful experience for me and my friends. A staff member who wasn’t even on shift was doing table service making old fashion cocktails for customers purely to enhance the experience of being there. It’s a modern take on a ‘Cheers’ experience with what were obviously many regulars, in itself a sign of a great bar. Going back today for their Garage Session free live music - today with a Juno award winning band.1

I came here for dinner with a group of 8, and we all had probably the worst restaurant experience. Our waitress, Susan, was making table side smoked old fashioned and that's where the night took a turn. We watched her have at least 4 drinks and then she sat at a booth with other customers (we assume friends) while we sat waiting for food/drinks. She was with them for at least half an hour while multiple customers were making their own drinks at the station while she coached them. Going off how she was acting through out the night she definitely wasn't sober. The other worker, a gentleman with a ponytail, did his best to tend to the entire restaurant by himself but overall wasn't a good experience. The atmosphere was like we were at someone's house party and were a nuisance to be served. It took a significantly long time to get any food or drink refills and probably half hour to get our bills.Would not recommend coming here, the food was decent but not worth the awkward embarrassment to be in an establishment that has workers acting that way.To end on a positive note they did have NASA TV on which was pretty interesting that that's even a channel.

Awesome place to stop by for post-event munchies and a pint. Really good mixed drinks, had 2 and they were both awesome. Service isn't super prompt, but for a late-night stop, I don't think that's am essential rating guide. Definitely will be back, especially if we need a late night snack and a drink.Very low chairs, most def a lounge-style vibe. The music is definitely not quiet, but able to have a conversation. Albeit, had to raise my voice to be heard.Recommend the spinach artichoke dip, small portion but delicious. I do think that they could use 1 more staff serving late night though.Parking: Lot next door, otherwise street packing.

Music was too loud to socialise, even after asking for it to be lowered (then it was subsequently raised again).Food was passable at best.Likely would not visit again unless there is a specific, compelling reason.

Experience was so bad. The food was either WAY too salty, or was literally just meat. “Roast tender”. Tender what? The 4 carrot sticks on the plate looked like they were chopped by a child, and food was very slow to come. 20$ for an old fashioned is a bit much. Also, would have been nice to have been given 4 menus for 4 people, not 2 for the table, especially when the menu is made of printer paper.Server also told us plainly she didn’t have recommendations for good or drinks as she hadn’t had most of it. Not really a ringing endorsement.

Stopped by last night for a drink and dinner. Came here to rave about the server. The person serving the entire restaurant was very polite, made good recommendations, and was clearly very talented. They were serving, bartending, and running food/drinks.I know from experience that wearing so many hats at once can be stressful but they didn’t let that show for a second.Food and drinks were great too.

What started as a great evening out, turned very sour. The owner needs to realize and understand the value of her customers.Servers were great for our event, the owner was very unprofessional in keeping tabs for the patrons. We will not be back to this venue.

Average place with average food with less then average portion sizes. We got a tray to share, the ratio of dip to chips was too big in favour of the chips, the dip was on the edge of being bland. The waitress was friendly enough when she remembered we were in the building, was more interested in the larger tables (ie bigger tips) and tables of men( again bigger tips) Back to portion sizes the lava cake was tasty though for the size woefully inadequate for the price, it is a cheap dessert to make, don’t skimp. The house wines though were tasty, we hit at happy hour so the reduced alcohol bill averaged out the higher food prices.Best I can give is average for this visit.

Came for the Oktoberfest event with Goldtooth. My new favourite pub! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Thanks for supporting live music!

Ordered appetizers, took over 45 minutes to get, tasted like regular food you can get at a pub. Nothing spectacular. Server kept sitting with us, even though we don’t know them from anywhere, really interfered with our conversations. Overall, nothing stood out about this place, I won’t return as there are many tried and true places with much better service.

If you're looking for a nice place for a decent cocktail or two while in downtown Edmonton, do check them out. Patrick was a treat, took his time and made some of the best cocktails we've had any where.

Warm atmosphere. Great happy hour. Owners Wayne and Susan are lovely humans. They put on fun events. Patio is dog friendly. Highly recommend for parties and small private events.
