We sat on the patio as it was less noisy and a warm evening. The service was excellent and the food was great all the way around. The patio is very cute and comfortable but the table got quite crowded as all the sharable plates and wine came at the same time. It wasn't a huge problem as we cleared one plate off onto our plates to make room. We had a lovely evening with wine, appetizer and 2 shared plates. We were totally stuffed so there was no room for dessert. Espresso and port topped off the evening.

Great experience! Hand written card for our occasion was very sweet. Loved the natural wines. For the quality and portion size of the food the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

I booked a table for my friend and I for her birthday. We requested the patio and mentioned in the reservation notes it was for a birthday. We got a great seat on the patio, and they even had an adorable birthday card waiting. We ordered all the small plates on the menu plus a few cocktails. Everything was prepared & served with care and heart. The dishes were delicious and beautiful. The service staff were friendly and engaging. We loved it!!

The server was great and very patient with our group. The food seemed agreeable to everyone but no one raved. The surprise was $27 for a glass of rose wine! Parking was difficult even with carpooling and should be mentioned on the website to help first-timers find appropriate parking places. Not sure I'd make an effort to return as there other similar restaurants throughout the city.

The food was superb - visually beautiful and so delish! Our service was excellent and the atmosphere was so lovely. I expect to return to explore more of the menu.

The style is sharing plates, we ordered the croquets, salad and sea bass which was a lot of food. The salad was amazing - probably one of the best salads we've had. We will go back but take friends with us to sample more dishes and more reasonable portion sizes. Their wine list was excellent, a little on the expensive side but definitely worth it from a wine experience side.

Our first visit but not our last. The food and service was excellent. We shared the sourdough bread, asparagus, pasta and sablefish. Then topped it all off with the chocolate tart. We left feeling very satiated. Delicious!

Found the share portions small. I had chosen the wrong wine for the food chosen and was replaced with no issues. They were sensitive to my allergies but were unable to change any items so very limited choice from the menu Worth trying again

The food was wonderful as always! We requested to sit outside on the patio after a very robust rainstorm. The skies cleared up but the furniture was sopping wet. At first the manager declined our request but within moments, went out and dried a table and chairs, put blankets on the seats and we had a lovely dining experience outdoors. The service was excellent, as were the food and drinks. We look forward to our next visit.
It was officially my birthday, but we were a table of four collectively celebrating our summer birthdays. Often when going to a restaurant with my mother, she talks about how she could make it better at home. This was not the case; all the food was exceptional, delicious—even the peas were the best I have ever had. The service was excellent, and it was a meal that will be remembered.

It was an excellent choice for celebrating our son's birthday who was visiting from Calgary! We were proud to take him to a a place with scrumptious food & great cocktails. We had tuna crudo & beef carpaccio for starters (YUM!) and the main dish sablefish was delicious as was the steak and tomato/cucumber salad with whipped feta. Everything was perfect from start to finish; our server was great and we felt well taken care of my the owner too. Fabulous night.

Really great food, but relatively small portions. Darling is a small restaurant, (call it intimate?) and can get quite loud, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was good, but not great. Restaurant held wine dinner on the evening I went. They did not open their doors until the scheduled time, which was a little weird, because for most of these events, you can get in early and chat with the wine maker. Luckily it wasn't raining that night. Resulted in large group outside the restaurant. Plan on not being let it early if you reserve near the opening time.
