Great, innovative food in a cozy environment with really friendly service. We will definitely be back!
Went to Darling for brunch with friends on the weekend and was underwhelmed by both aspects of the food and the service we received. I understand there are delays in the kitchen sometimes, but our waiter was more concerned with socializing behind the bar than the one plate of food still missing 10 minutes after everyone else’s food had been delivered to the table. We had to actively seek out our waiter to follow up on it, at which time it was very quickly brought out telling us it had likely been sitting in the kitchen waiting for our waiter to deliver it. The person waiting for the delayed dish wanted to ask for syrup to go with it, and because our waiter didn’t return to the table to ask the standard “How are things” within a few mins of delivery, we gave up on him and asked some random employee walking by our table to bring it. No apology for either miss. The food was good but not great. Don’t expect much from the hash browns. I would return if a friend wanted to go, but I would not pick Darling myself again.
I’ve been here twice now with my friends and we absolutely love coming here! This time we came for one of my friends birthdays and Derek and Justin were SO kind to send a card and bottle of wine for the table. They went above and beyond when they didn’t have to at all and it didn’t go unnoticed! We appreciated it tons! Our server Ally also, shoutout because you were awesome and we loved having you! Thanks for being so patient with us and giving us recommendations!!
We have been to Darling for both tapas/drinks and dinner and were disappointed by the dinner menu this time. The pork dish was very tough, the brussel sprouts weren’t fully cooked and the pasta dish had an overbearing ‘pea’ flavour to it. I’d definitely recommend (and come back to) this place for snacks and great wine and cocktails, and the neighborhood vibes are excellent. However, there are much better dinner options in Edmonton for the price.
Fantastic wine focused restaurant with impeccable food and great personable service!
Waitress was quite rude and made us go as soon as we finished our dinner
expensive, food was good. The atmosphere was lovely. Sat outside on the patio.
some gluten free options available but not many.
The servers are super kind and accommodating! Food was delish and it’s the perfect spot for a cute brunch. Highly recommend!
Fantastic meal and fantastic service. We tried the eggs Benedict and the lentil pancake. Both dishes were very good and very filling. We will definitely be back.
We had a great evening at Darling. It was our first time there and it didn’t disappoint. The staff are welcoming, engaged and attentive. We shared the olives, fingerlings, brassica salad and coulotte steak. Every dish was truly excellent and the salad was a standout! (We have leftovers to take home.) The wine list is special and unique and we can see the amount of thought that has been put into it. Looking forward to going back!

We were 5 in the group including our grand daughter. The entire experience of our brunch was excellent. The staff was just so accommodating to all of us including a happy smile. The food was tremendous.
I am from Northern Alberta and highly recommend this cozy stop to anyone.
What an amazing place. Amazing variety of wines. But what I loved the most was their Vanilla pound cake! Justin was amazing!
Great service, immaculately clean, calm chill vibes inside. Food was mostly good (olives, cucumber salad, pasta, sourdough). Beef carpaccio was too busy and drowned in sauce. Pork was meh.
Beautiful ! Exquisite!
Darling always impresses me. The service is always SO friendly, and the servers always are very knowledgeable about the menu. I have never received a bad recommendation.
Darling is cozy, a great place if you want to have actual conversation, as it’s never loud or blaring music. They also have a lovely patio.
We came for brunch this time. I had an American (cutest glassware), and the mushroom Benny. It was as you would expect of a Benny- delicious! But the mushrooms somehow made it feel lighter. Our server brought me a side of their Soppresata hollandaise- and it was a lovely surprise and went great with my potatoes. My husband had the Maple Glazed Pork Belly AND IT WAS AMAZING. The flavour was incredible. It is a large portion- so make sure you are hungry!
Excited that we are closer to Darling now- we will be back! Thanks, Darling!
