Samantha was great as our waitress. The food was also excellent, especially the brussels sprouts.

The service was extremely slow. After having the appetizers we were waiting for a very long time to get our mains, and when they finally arrived they said there was a mistake and they had to redo one of the mains. They also said that because of the mistake that dish would be on them, but when I checked the bill, they charged us for it.

Bullied my boyfriend into taking me on a date here since he loves it so much. Totally worth the hype. I enjoyed my meat and 1/2 off bottle of wine. Sydney is an icon and perfect server!

Thank you for a wonderful evening experience. My appetizer and main was delicious, the service team was very friendly and was able to accommodate food allergies. They even let our table communicate directly with the chef. A special shout out to the host Ethan. He was welcoming, efficient and made the dining experience memorable.

The sticker-shock is REAL!!! That said, Sam was an amazing waitress, her and the rest of the team were attentive, knowledgable, and wonderful! I will say, we were disappointed in the Lobster Mac and Cheese, like someone said before it was more of an oilbased/soup, instead of a creamy mac and cheese like we had hoped, but the Steak was fabulous with the lobster butter topping and mushrooms, and the burger was great! Expect to spend far more than you anticipated going in, but you will have an excellent time.

I came into Hayloft Steak and Fish in Cameron Heights after what had been an emotional few weeks. My child had recently left home, and while I’m incredibly proud, the quiet moments have been hard. That night, I just needed a good meal and maybe a little comfort — and what I found at Hayloft was so much more than that.
From the moment I walked in, Ethan and Pearce greeted me with genuine warmth. They were the kind of hosts who make you feel seen — checking in just enough, keeping my drink never below three-quarters full, and answering every question with patience and kindness. Their energy lifted the whole atmosphere and made me feel completely taken care of.
My server, Pavel (pardon me if I’ve misspelled his name), was exceptional. Thoughtful, kind, and attentive, he seemed to understand exactly the pace I needed — not rushed, not distant, just right. It felt like being looked after by someone who truly cared about making my evening special.
And then there was the food. The oysters were unbelievably fresh, like a taste of the sea itself, and the steak was so tender and juicy it practically melted in my mouth. Each bite felt comforting — like a reminder that small joys can bring real healing.
What started as a quiet night to distract myself became something unexpectedly meaningful. I left Hayloft feeling lighter, comforted, and grateful — reminded that kindness, great food, and genuine hospitality can make even a heavy heart feel full again.
To the entire team at Hayloft: thank you for turning an emotional evening into a beautiful memory. I’ll absolutely be back.

Wow! THIS is what I call a steakhouse! My experience at Hayloft was so incredible that I felt obligated to leave a review, allow me to elaborate on my experience.
I recently dined here after visiting Workshop Eatery and Woodshed Burgers, which I believe are owned by the same mother company, and I already came in with high standards from my great experiences at those restaurants previously mentioned. Right from the get-go, I immediately felt at home. The service staff were on their A-Game, notably our server, Sam, and the two remarkable hosts, Pierce and Ethan. Forgive me if I butchered any of those, as these names may pop up a few times. They made me feel like a king! My glass was never empty, and anytime I spoke with any of the 3 listed above, I really felt their care for my experience and they did anything they possibly could to make my experience memorable. Even when I first sat down, Pierce took the time to walk me through the concepts of how they source their products from local Albertan businesses and utilize their dry-ager to give their beef a unique, deep flavour. This, on top of Sam's helpful descriptions and suggestions, confirmed that we were in the right place, and we knew exactly what we wanted. You can tell from their smiling faces and devotion to amazing hospitality that they truly have a passion for what they do. Even if the food was terrible, I would return for the service ALONE. 5/5!
Not to worry, however, because the food was nearly flawless. For appetizers, I got their oysters and the French onion dip. The oysters were fresh and ice-cold, and while the French onion dip was far from what I expected, it was delicious nonetheless. For my entree, I got the Rigatoni with the tallow roasted potatoes, and the flavour was off the charts. Hayloft isn't lying, folks, dry aging is no joke! I also loved the usage of beef tallow with the potatoes; it added a really nice beefy undertone to the potatoes that were perfectly soft yet crispy. The table also ordered two desserts, the chocolate cake and the apple pie. The apple pie was perfectly sweet and tasted like autumn in a pie, while the cake was a tad dry, but still had the rich chocolatiness I wanted. I do believe the cake IS gluten-free and vegan, which could be the culprit. Not my favourite, but a great option for those with dietary restrictions. Safe to say, I left absolutely stuffed. I was going to take photos, but my appetite got the best of me (haha!). Overall, the food was outstanding, and made great use of the local Alberta ingredients that set this restaurant apart from any other steakhouse around. Compliments to the chefs! 5/5!
The atmosphere was a perfect balance of refined and rustic, with some cool, western decor scattered around that gave off an Albertan charm. The lighting was perfect, and the country music in the background was enjoyable for me. I'm not entirely sure if it was perfectly suited to a steakhouse, but I was happy with it! I was with a group of pals, and the ambience here is perfect for any get-together, from hangouts to meetings. I even seen a private room near the back, and I definitely plan on hosting something there at some point in the future. While this restaurant isn't massive, it makes great use of space that feels cozy but not cluttered. 5/5!
I have nothing negative to say about my experience here, and I look forward to my next visit at Hayloft. Thank you to Sam, Pierce, Ethan, and the rest of the staff for making my night one to remember!

The operator really needs to offer more and better training for their staff. Despite all these seemingly positive reviews, your restaurant is dead on a Saturday evening speaks for itself.
Fine dining your expectations are elevated but not even the serving basics are covered. Most servers take the menu after the customer finishes ordering. Most servers will ask if a customer would like a drink when their glass is 25% empty and not have to get asked. Most servers would safely assume to split the items of the bill for a group of 10.
The food? Bland. The steak looked so promising and texture was great. Unfortunately the lack of any flavour mismatches your expectations. The seared Brussels sprouts could use a major overhaul too considering what you’re charging for them.
I could keep the list going, at the end of this I can’t even blame the staff. It’s 100% on the operator to ensure your restaurant actually can meet a standard.

My wife and I had steak sandwiches . I asked for no fries and more vegetables .medium rare steak on a baguette.
Food arrived approx 45 to 60 minutes later .
Steak was rare and baguette was as hard as rock . They gave me so much extra arugula instead of fries it covered the plate completely .
We should have complained and returned the steak sandwiches . Not our style to complain BUT in the future with prices so high we have decided to send the food back until it’s to our satisfaction . The kitchen chef was not thinking of presentation or checking the steaks .
We would probably not recommend this restaurant .

Poor value for money. The steak prices are a bit out there, I don’t mind paying $70-80 for a steak but at that price I’m expecting to be blown away. Had a dry aged ribeye that was poorly seasoned and came out blue rare in most spots. Was also full of fat and gristle throughout. Then they gouge you on side dishes, $12 each for a small serving of French fries and Mushrooms. My partner enjoyed her steak sandwich but still found it tough and not cooked to order. Our server was friendly and attentive but overall we were disappointed for a $200 dinner. We’ve always had good experience with Woodshed Burgers as the sister company but I can’t say I would return here.
