This is actually ridiculous. Placed an order on SkipTheDishes at 5:30 p.m. because the app shows the restaurant as OPEN for delivery. So I order. Simple. Order sits there. Pending. Then cancelled.
I call and I’m told they don’t even start taking Skip orders until 6 p.m.
So explain to me why I was even allowed to place an order at 5:30 if nothing is being accepted?That’s straight up misleading. You’re basically letting people order into a system that isn’t even active yet, then wasting their time with cancellations after.
Fix your damn availability on the app. If you’re not open for Skip orders, then don’t show as open. It’s not rocket science.

I had a very disappointing experience trying to place a pickup order. I called the restaurant and was told I couldn’t order directly or pay when I arrived. Instead, I was instructed to download SkipTheDishes or Uber Eats just to place a pickup order.
I’ve never experienced this before—most restaurants allow customers to call in an order and pay in person. Forcing customers to go through third-party apps, even for pickup, is inconvenient and unnecessary.
When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told they weren’t available, which made the situation even more frustrating.
Unfortunately, this experience has discouraged me from ordering here again. I hope the restaurant reconsiders this policy and improves how they treat with customers.

This restaurant makes no sense … they outright refuse people to order food on the phone and keep directing you to uber eats n yet disregard the distance limit on said uber eats. COMPLETELY OUTRAGEOUS

A visit here offers a warm introduction to Swahili cuisine, delivered in a setting that feels intimate and inviting. The experience leans heavily on comfort and authenticity, though it is not without moments where clearer guidance and service consistency would elevate the meal.

The table began with vegetable samosas, their handmade pastry crisp and lightly golden, giving way to a familiar filling of potatoes, green peas, and gently spiced aromatics. The flavors were pleasant and well-balanced, though the portions felt modest, leaving the impression of an appetizer that could benefit from a touch more generosity.

The centerpiece, however, was the ugali with two vegetable sides. The ugali itself was prepared as expected—firm, neutral, and serving as a perfect canvas for accompanying dishes. The spinach stood out immediately: rich, stewed, and deeply comforting, it clung beautifully to the ugali and delivered the kind of cohesive, satisfying bite that defines this style of cuisine.

The second side, kachumbali, was less harmonious. Presented as a wetter, salad-like accompaniment, it introduced a sharp, refreshing acidity but lacked the body and warmth needed to complement the ugali in the same way as the spinach. A more saucy or stewed alternative would have created a better balance across the plate. A brief explanation or recommendation from the service team when selecting sides would have made a meaningful difference in shaping the experience.

Service, while polite and well-intentioned, was uneven. There was noticeable hesitation when taking orders, including some confusion around vegetarian requests, which detracted slightly from the otherwise welcoming atmosphere. Water service was also inconsistent, with glasses not always being refreshed. It is also worth noting that while the establishment advertises hours until midnight, last call occurs around 10 p.m., which may catch late-evening diners off guard.

That said, the space itself is undeniably cozy, and the overall value is strong for the quality and portioning offered. With clearer menu guidance, more confident service, and better alignment between advertised hours and actual service availability, the experience has the potential to move from good to genuinely memorable.

An absolute outstanding meal , cooked just right and delicious, definitely wow factor .Banza what a welcoming heart he has and added to this unforgettable experience. The warmth was heartfelt and the dishes very tasty , many repeats for me and also will point others in this direction to enjoy the same . Everything is good except that wait for the food takes super long. Been there couple times and had to wait for atleast 45 minutes.
