Tokiwa Ramen is one of those places that shows off the very best of Edmonton’s food scene. The ramen here is fresh, bright, clean, and incredibly flavourful, with combinations that feel both comforting and exciting — the kind of flavours you appreciate from the very first bite.

The setting in the Loblaws City Market District adds to the experience. Throughout our visit, we saw families with kids, couples out on dates, and friends catching up — a lively, warm mix that gives the space an energetic neighbourhood feel. It’s easy to see why Tokiwa consistently draws full houses and steady lineups at peak times.

Presentation is beautiful, ingredients are clearly high-quality, and the restaurant’s design is trendy while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. Everything — from the broth to the toppings to the pacing of service — feels intentional and well-crafted.

“Food was great, I really enjoyed the mussel soup and the miso soup. Lots of flavour and really great mussels.

I definitely recommend having the seafood noodle spicy instead of regular because it needs a push of flavour in that regard. Since I only eat Halal, we had to get a veggie broth instead of a chicken broth which could’ve pushed down the flavour content.

The mochi was delicious and definitely a must try. Very creamy and delicious.

Servers were very kind and came regularly to check on our table.

“I was so excited to try this place and it did not disappoint, the wait time after we ordered was about 15 mins. The flavours of the food is so good! We went with assorted sushi and Unagi was served warm and it was delicious and probably the best one out of all the items that we tried. The place have a lot of tables even for bigger groups, the place was quiet even when pack with people.

The place is close to high level bridge and walterdale bridge which i would say a nice walk after eating here would be nice too.
