I used to come to Ramen Misoya quite often before work and the food itself is decent. However, the dining experience has become really unpleasant because of an older man who keeps walking in and out of the restaurant smelling strongly of cigarette smoke.

This is not a one-time thing. It has happened during multiple visits, and every time the smell is extremely noticeable and lingers in the dining area. When you’re trying to enjoy a bowl of ramen, having someone constantly coming back inside smelling like heavy cigarette smoke is honestly disgusting and completely ruins the appetite.

A restaurant environment should feel clean and comfortable for customers. I’m surprised the management allows this to keep happening. It’s disappointing because I used to like coming here, but experiences like this make me reconsider coming back.

I’m only giving one star because Google doesn’t allow zero.

Service is freindly and punctual. The ramen is top tier with some of - If not the best noodles in Edmonton.

This is a hidden gem, good food, great service, and the environment was very comforting and quiet. The portions are huge, I couldn't even finish my bowl. They also offer a punch card for every bowl you get, after 10 you get a free one! I am definitely coming back 😁

The food was delicious. I enjoyed the atmosphere because it was not too noisy, we could have a conversation. The service was excellent and the food was great.

Generous portions, reasonable prices, fresh ingredients. All things equal, probably the best food downtown for the price. I usually get a bowl of ramen, 6 or 8 yakitori, and a side of edamame.

The ramen portion was huge — I couldn’t even finish the bowl. The Tantan Deluxe was delicious and creamy, but the Tonkotsu Black was a bit too salty for my taste, and I found the cabbage in it quite unexpected. Having eaten ramen in Japan many times, I’ve never encountered cabbage in that style before. The Ikageso was perfectly cooked — tender and flavorful — and I really enjoyed the ice cream for dessert. Overall, a satisfying meal with some standout dishes and a few surprising choices.

Decided to come here for dinner and found my experience to be mediocre. I was seated right away as there were only a few other tables of diners.

I opted for their tonkotsu black ramen, which ended up being much bigger than I expected. It came with three, thick slices of chashu pork (which were a tad overcooked), beansprouts, corn, a whole egg (flavour was just a tiny bit different than what I'm used to), black fungus slivers, and a giant piece of seaweed that tasted a bit fishy. The ground pork easily got lost in the soup and and didn't enhance anything in the ramen bowl. The broth wasn't as rich as I hoped it to be and was on the salty side.

They were quick to greet and seat me, but once I got my food, service was non-existant. The two servers were busy being on their phones and never bothered checking in on me, or any of the other tables.

Overall, the ramen was filling but the flavours and experience doesn't leave me wanting to return again.
