One of the better ramens we have had in Edmonton. Complex broth and flavours.
I asked my daughter if we should come again and got two thumbs up.

I ordered the Chicken Shoyu Ramen and requested a thin noodles. The ramen has fresh noodles and a deliciously flavourful broth. Overall a satisfying experience. Highly recommend.

I've eaten here on 3 separate occasions and I was impressed every time. This is probably one of the best Japanese restaurants in Edmonton. So far I have tried their Kaarage, Chiashu Don ($17.00), Katsudon ($17), and Tonkatsu ($17.50). My wife has tried their Ramen and said it was very good. Out of all the dishes I have tried, their Tonkatsu is my favorite, and I would say is probably the best in YEG, as I've tried this dish at many other spots around the city. The portions are also very generous, especially for the price. The place is clean and the staff are very attentive and courteous. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the city and an easy recommendation for anyone who even remotely enjoys Japanese food.

Pros: One of the best tonkatsu ramen in the city. Ramen egg is also tasty.
Cons: Miso ramen and Bao buns are mid. Service is inconsistent. Some tables get better service than others. Water is served in plastic glasses which is a complete 180 to the gorgeous dinnerware their food is served in

A group of friends and I reserved a table for a party of 8 around dinner time. The space is small and they did not have many tables, but the staff had made it work for us. The service was a little slow due to only having one server but I can understand due to amount of tables and how large our party is.
We ordered 3 appetizers; the karaage, takoyaki and the gyoza. The karaage was delicious, crunchy and full of flavor! I highly recommend!
I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and it was rich, packed with flavor and with right amount of spiciness! I would return again for another ramen bowl. I ordered an extra egg and meat I do not regret it. :)

This has become my favourite restaurant in the city. 10/10 every time, amazing ramen, amazing katsudon. My favourite is the Black Garlic Ramen, but I've tried nearly all of them, and they are all fantastic.

The appetizers were delicious and presented beautifully. The tonkatsu pork bone broth was rich, and flavourful and the ramen bowl was also presented beautifully. The only issue here is that the seating is limited. But the food here is amazing f

Visited Shiawase today and my experience was okay. We ordered a few apps - takoyaki, karaage, bao buns. These were all very good. I also ordered a tonkutsu ramen (regular not spicy) and it was just alright. I was expecting for more of a punch of flavours and I didn't really get that. It was more bland than I wanted and we didn't get a choice for different noodles either like how other places may offer. They also do not have many drink options. I believe only a few pops. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which is fine, but it was pretty cold in there and I was in jeans and a sweater. Overall, it was alright, nothing great. I probably wouldn't return again.

We were looking for a new ramen place and Shiwase came up with positive reviews.
I gotta say, this place is amazing! The first time we went we had the mapo tofu ramen and the black garlic tonkotsu ramen. They were both so delicious. The broth was very flavourful and the portions were just right. The chasu was really tender and delicious. I highly recommend. Especially the Black Garlic one if you don’t know what to pick, or it’s your first time having ramen.
BUT, the best dish that changed my life was their Chicken Nanban. It’s rare to see nanbans so we ordered it and it was legit life changing. The chicken was really crisp and light and the sauce? It was just so delicious too. I think it’s just eggs and mayo? I couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks.
We also got the bao buns and they were really good too! They hit just the right spot with a good balance of salty and sour with the pickled side and cucumbers.
Our second trip I just wanted the Nanbandon and my bf got the Oyakodon. They were extremely filling but delicious. We even ordered another Nanban on the side.
So I highly recommend coming to this place! And get the Nanban 🤣 you won’t regret it. Plus the prices are really fair and it’s family owned. We will definitely come back again.

What an absolute hidden gem! This may have been the best Japanese ramen I’ve ever tasted in Alberta. My partner and I got the chicken karaage, spicy tonkatsu ramen and spicy miso ramen. The broth, texture of the noodles and meat is all just in perfect harmony with each other. The karage was perfectly moist chicken thigh- crispy and lightly battered. I’m excited about going back to try more dishes!
