My second experience at The Soban left a poor impression of this business. While our meal was tasty and the service prompt, we had the unpleasant experience of witnessing live mice running around the dining room as we finished our meal at lunch time August 18 2025. Our server also saw the rodents and failed to acknowledge it as she brought the bill. (It was clear they knew as my dining companion saw a mouse run out across the room from under a table, and at the same time the server saw it and looked right up at her making eye contact before looking back at the mouse) AHS inspection was completed that week as per reports available online and confirm a significant mouse infestation along with other violations such as no detergent or sanitizer in the dishwasher. While the restaurant took steps to clean up the issue once closed by AHS, it is concerning that this known issue was ignored until they were forced to address it by the authorities.

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The garlic fried chicken shook me; it was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I didn't even order it, I had some off my boyfriend's plate and was reeling. I couldn't stop raving about it while I was eating it.
Next up I had a large assortment of nigiri (they had combos but I just free-picked). I loved their fish-to-rice ratio, and of course the fish was all beautifully cut, fresh and very delicious. I tried a new type of fish for me here, madai, which was outstanding and a surprising highlight. I also has their pressed salmon which was creamy and delicious, a personal favourite.
Staff were friendly and attentive, this is my new favourite sushi place and I will be back many times. I couldn't get any good photos this time because after the fried chicken I became a gluttonous beast and didn't hesitate when these beautiful dishes were put in front of me. 10/10.

I love it her always get the beef udon soup and tempura! Everything I’ve gotten i enjoy! If you’re looking for a nice place just to eat this is great! Seen many small parties happen there aswell if you need somewhere for a small birthday!

I always like coming here. Usually I get a pile of nigiri, but this time we mixed it up with rolls, which were excellent as well. The staff are always nice and helpful. It's a weird building on the outside, but the inside is neat. I hate giving a good review because I don't want the rest of you lot crowding the place up for me.

My 13 yr old and I popped in for lunch based on a high review rating. High rating is 100% well deserved! Don’t let the outside trick you, the inside is clean, nicely decorated and calming. We tried the chicken karaage appetizer, and we each had a lunch special. My daughter had the bento and I had the 11 piece assorted sashimi. I also ordered tea. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted so fresh! We left pleasantly full with a definitive promise to return to try the sushi options.
