Tried to take my family for lunch. Place was closed in the middle of the day. No sign on the door. Lights off, door locked. Unsure if it is still open at all. Didn't answer phone calls later that day. The hours posted on the business said they should be open. Sad, we were looking forward to trying it

Im guessing it depends on what time you go but I’ve been twice on a weekday now and both times I experienced the same thing. The ventilation system must be down because it smelled like something was burning. The decor is run down and the paper menu is crusty. They ran out of soup, lentil meatloaf and asked what side we wanted before serving the dish and saying oh the tofu bowl doesn’t come with a side. The service is super slow bc the server is the chef as well. The steak sandwich was delicious but for what you pay and the experience you get, I’m not sure I’d go back again. If it’s for takeout, highly recommend!

What in the world did I experience here?! Lol. Went for a late lunch with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was completely empty, which surprised me. It was my first time dining there but it's rare to walk into any restaurant on 124 St and have it be totally empty. There were empty water glasses and things on the tables. Children's artwork on the wall where I was sitting and it was all crooked, drives me crazy. The person working there seemed to be having a bad day. Quite limp and monotone. "Pick whichever table you want, I have to clean them all anyways." When we got the menus we were told a bunch of items that weren't available. That's fine, I didn't want sausage and a milkshake anyways. We ordered our meals and they did take a while to come, but I think this person was the only person working there and I could hear them doing the cooking in the back. Every time I interacted with them I felt like, does this person hate me? LOL. Awkward. I had the chicken and pancakes, which were quite good. I asked for a side of fruit and got a bowl of strawberries. The server didn't come around very often. Never brought us a bill. When I went to the counter to pay they just told me "Yours is $25." I didn't think too much about it, but realized later that they must have charged me $6 for a bowl of strawberries, because the dish I order was only $18. Yikes. They were much more friendly and upbeat when we were paying, gotta get that tip. My favourite part of the place was all of the cute pet photos in the washroom. I really did like the food I had, but the vibe was super bizarre. 2.5/5 stars

The food here is excellent! I had the donair and it was not only HUGE… but so delicious. The salsa is one of my favourites. The staff were friendly and quick. Just about everything seems to be handmade. The pita I had with the donair was fresh and amazing. And we took home a cinnamon bun which was great! Overall, I can’t wait to come back again and try a different dish (and take home a big bowl of the salsa as well for later)!

Clever Rabbit is not so clever. They need to close. Worst place to eat, wanted to leave as soon as we sampled our food. I can’t tell you in words how truly awful it was. The owner, cook was nice but really seemed so uninterested in everything to do with the restaurant. When we drove by a few minutes later we could still see our uneaten food sitting on the table. That speaks volumes.

Lots of issues coming into this restaurant. First was no greeting upon arrival, waited about 3 min for someone come out of the kitchen to speak to us. When presented with the menu, it was covered in stains. Our server went on about not being able to serve half the things on the menu due to broken cookware and lack of stock. As we were the only ones in the restaurant we expected the food to come out relatively quick but it took over an hour for 3 items for a table of two. French toast was burnt, the donair didn’t even resemble a donair more like a falafel, the eggs Benedict had no flavour on top of a dry and cold biscuit and the sweet potatoes were super salty. Not only did we not enjoy the food, the washrooms were disgusting and almost looked they didn’t clean the place for months. Service was not even there, server was unfriendly and did not give recommendations upon requests. I would’ve been better off making my own vegan food at home. Overall the cost of all this ended up being 70$. Was it worth it? No. Overpriced garbage food with no service in a dirty place. Save your time and money and avoid this place, you’re better off with any other options on 124 street.

Amidst rising costs and shrinking portions, these folks have managed to keep prices reasonable and, most importantly, food delicious. Just make sure to call before going because they're not always open. But when they are, your belly will surely be in for a treat!

What an uncanny experience this is. Feels like we're cursed or something. After we tried to eat here and had a very awkward experience we looked up reviews and the top reviewer had a nearly IDENTICAL experience. So similar that everyone else thought I was joking. So I'm just going to copy and paste from the previous review (my comments in brackets):I have to admit that i feel a little traumatized after eating here yesterday. I actually feel like we were getting ’punked’. Upon entering we were met with an empty restaurant and two tables with dirty dishes left on the table (there were two dirty tables when we arrived, too!). We could see someone sitting in the back and although we spoke as loud as we could, nobody came out until we rang the bell (same situation, but someone did come out after a moment). The restaurant looks like it used to be a cute space at one time but it felt dirty and run down. When the server brought the menus she even commented on the stains on the paper menus (same comment!). She then went on to give us a list of items that they don’t have (again, us too! No sausages, no soup, not doing omelettes, and then said "good luck" before walking away). We should have walked out at that stage but felt bad (we left)...How this could happen twice, nearly identically. It could be a front?

While waiting for our food it was hard to concentrate as the music was blaring profanities. The food itself wasn’t terrible but I question the cleanliness. It was like pulling teeth to try to get our bill and while we waited a homeless woman came in to use the washroom. The staff were nowhere in sight. Its sad that a place with so much potential could be really quite disgusting. I cant believe we spent over $90 for this and surprised its even in business. If you go just be ready for a comedy show not a restaurant.

This is my first 2 star review and I'm sad about it... however, I really do have concerns about this place. The first time I visited, the food was very delicious. Great French Toast, great Salad, but very slow service. Also not the nicest. The second time I visited they were closed for no reason with no explanation. I know life happens, so we went a third time. This time was bizarre. The place was OVERWHELMED by the smell of cat litter which was seriously unpleasant. Whoever was working also had their children running around, and it just looked like a real mess. As in, not clean. Again, I'm compassionate toward working mothers and still gave the benefit of the doubt. But the service was just so very unpleasant as if she was upset we had entered. No greeting, just sort of an eyeroll. When we said we were going to leave, she didn't even say anything. She just put them menu down and walked away. So. I realize maybe this was a very unfortunate day, but I've heard similar comments from others and don't think the attitude is entirely a one-off moment. Too bad because the food was really good. Ive given this place quite a few chances thinking it s just a bad day or its my bias but after multiple years.. slow service. Always takes an hour, even if you order coffee & a cold sandwich. I feel like the owners or whoever built the menu never actually eat the food- its all a great idea but the eggs benny is just odd. The hollandaise is literally a mustard creme sauce on a hunk of tofu and an undercooked biscuit. Waffles are always raw- and after years of reviews and complaints froms others, nothing has changed. When it first opened, it felt ramshackle like a new business is expected to. But its been YEARS and the atmosphere is still rickety, old, and dirty. Didnt even use the toilet when i went in the last time. Just turned and left and sanitized immediately. The vegan butcher-esque goods used to be unique and interesting, but have not changed, even as supermarket alternatives and home recipes have DRASTICALLY improved. The "meat" falls apart and is still mainly wheat/soy based. Its now just disappointing as my recipes for home cooking are MUCH better, faster AND CHEAPER! This restaurant is SO over priced bc they wont hire or train staff/kitchen to handle multiple orders. So many reviews of ppl up and leaving but NOTHING has changed! Where is your training? Why not revamp a recipe? Why is a mile high clubhouse sandwich made on gross, soft bread that instantly falls apart when picked up?! Cmon. Rly makes me think someone had an idea to open a business and just left it at that.

Amazing food, very good quality and fresh. Very filling for a plant based meal. Will definitely go back and bring our non planet base friends. Definitely worth a visit.

Interesting restaurant. Sparse decor but the food was quite good. Lots of really interesting options on the menu- really wanted to try the donair based on the reviews and asking the waitress for her recommendations. It has all day breakfast and saw a vegans eggs Benedict which made me even more curious than the donair…so I ordered them both. The eggs Benedict was interesting- ok but not something I would order again. The donair with sweet potato hash however was capital E- Excellent! It had an unexpected sweet flavour and was very tasty with sriracha sauce. Only complaint about the donair is that it is super messy and difficult to eat without getting sauce all over yourself. This is not take out food…or eat later food. There is so much sauce that it will make the bread too soggy to eat Very curious to try more stuff

The Clever Rabbit is a cute restaurant with lots of good, tasty vegan meals. The rabbit decor is adorable too.

Completely disappointed. Rarely ever leave negative reviews but this took the cake.First, cappucino used a kind of milk that curdles, if you've been vegan for more than a few months you know which milks curdle and which ones don't.Second, we ordered the eggs benedict. Plant based eggs benedict is hard, I'll give you that, but this meal was objectively gross and left my stomach sick. The sauce is thick and chunky with incohesive spices. Again, there are plant based hollandaise and you should rewrite the recipe so that its not a mountain of disgusting chunks.Third, the biscuit was wet and untoasted, the whole thing felt like a child putting together their first meal. The only redeeming thing was the hashbrowns.Fourth, I would have not left this review if the owner had come out and spoken to me. Instead, we were charged full price for meals we didn't eat with non existent service. I am now forced to make sure no one gets scammed in the same way by leaving this review.Get it together.
