Always consistently outstanding which is why we come for every birthday and special occasion
Best server ever! I believe his name was Ben! Great communication, funny and attention to detail
My husband and I went out for dinner this evening expecting a fancy meal, and great service…we were extremely disappointed. Our server was almost nonexistent, gave my husband one drink refill at the END of his meal, and only came to check on how the meal was AFTER I looked for someone else to help me. My food was mediocre. My sides tasted like they had been sitting out and waiting for awhile. Cold and dry. I found another waitress (ours was nowhere to be seen), and was given new sides. The manager came and apologized, and said “I hope you have a great evening. I hope you come back” No compensation, nothing. I would have LOvED to have had those sides WITH my chicken. I was expecting more than just an apology after messing up my meal… especially from a fancier restaurant like the KEG. Also our food took about 45 minutes to come out. We come here often and are usually happy, but this experience has really changed our opinion of this restaurant.
This was a lovely night out. From the welcome to the farewell the warm service was delightful. The food was exceptional and delivered at a lovely pace...no rushing or long delays. This was not a surprise, as in our previous experiences, it always was. Our server Chris was warm and friendly. The Baileys and Mocha drink topped our evening off beautifully.
Went to the Keg for Thanks Giving and the steaks and service was fabulous. Never a disappointment.
The keg classic is mine and my wife go to meal but it has gotten smaller since we been going to keg last 35 years. So far we can say south common hasn't let us down on meal. Few times feel we were pushed through as they needed the table.
WE have been going to the Keg ocaisionally for many years, both my wife and my son had worked for them, my wofe was at Strathcona Keg back in the "Good Ol Days" so we have seen it go up and down and on average we know what to expect. Last night I had the Short Rib Special for $47.00, it was 5 pieces of meat averaging 2 inches cubed, two of which were 80%fat, no bone and the meat was not exactly falling apart as you might expect with some slow cooked short ribs. Very disappointing. On the other hand the Lobster Bisque was sublime. Its so very expensive to eat out these days that my expectations are quite high if I am going to have to pay the price. I guess I should have stuck to the steak???? But I will limit my eating out activities going forward.
The south side Keg is our go-to for any special events or just wanting to go out for a great meal. Thoroughly disappointed last time out - half the table's meals (steaks) were not the ordered temperature and the meat was chewy, dry and unseasoned. Hope this isn't indicative of a decline of quality standards.
Had a very nice anniversary dinner. The food was really good, and the service was top notch Keg!
My fiancé and I went here to celebrate our engagement and we had an absolutely great time. Our server, Aaron, was fantastic, the food was served so quickly and it was delicious. I was so excited to see they have a vegetarian shepherds pie which was the main reason we came here. My fiancé loves steak so we were able to come here and both get something we enjoy. 10/10 would recommend. We will be back.

When we want to enjoy a delicious steak and good dining experience, we go to The Keg. We were not disappointed this time. It was outstanding.
We have been regular patrons of The Keg since it opened in Edmonton. Our favourite was the original site just off 82nd Avenue and were sad to see it close. The service and food quality are excellent but as we get older the noise level seems to get higher! We will be back though perhaps not as often as the prices are now getting a bit steep for us.
Me and my best friend went to the keg south common, and I have to say, it was amazing, I knew I picked the right spot to eat immediately! I wanna thank all the extra staff and waiters that made our visit amazing and well worth the extra dollar! We even got a free piece of their AMAZING mocha iced cream cake! To die for! And our steak were cooked to our liking, 10/10 and specifically wanna thank our server, Ben. G, thank you for making my friends first experience at the keg the best! We will definitely be back soon!
Tyrone was amazing! I have celiac disease and he made sure there would be no cross contamination. He made our anniversary a wonderful night!
We had a gift card for our 50th anniversary (past November)but becuz we live in a town that doesn't have a keg, and any other cities near us (like Calgary or Med Hat) well to say it politely, their food, ambience and service really is sad on ALL levels) ! They Don't give the Keg vibe as you do! So we've been waiting to come to Edmonton South Common. And finally we were able to! Woohoo! Three hour drive and Ten months late for our 50th anniversary but it was definitely worth the wait. We didn't just have great food but an awesome server, Morgan. As well, we had Dexter and Brad mingle with us. Extremely enjoyable interactions of these young guys and us old people. lol Thank you for always being there for us.
