The Fish Place offers good food without being fancy, with a standout quality of staff who provide exceptional service. The restaurant is cozy and clean, though some might find it a little dated. It is accommodating, helping customers with special needs, such as providing assistance with coat removal and offering to cut food into manageable portions. Breakfast portions are huge, and the food is on point, with outstanding dishes like fish with poutine, crab stuffed mushrooms, and homemade fries with thick gravy. The staff is friendly, cheerful, quick, and efficient, often going above and beyond to ensure a great experience. For example, one server remembered a customer’s drink and kindly brought a fresh pot of mussels when the first wasn’t as good as before. Despite being served near closing time, the restaurant still provided excellent service. The drinks are served ice cold in chilled mugs, although there is no draft beer. Overall, The Fish Place delivers everything expected from a fish restaurant, but with an even better touch.
