Mae's Kitchen Reviews
Our family ordered a couple BLT’s, a hot hamburger dinner and the burger special. The food was piping hot and flavourful. The hospitality was friendly and welcoming as well. Worth the little drive from Lacombe for dinner when you don’t feel like cooking. 😋
I order from here when I don’t feel like cooking and still want a home made meal. I’ve always gotten large portions, especially the poutines, I can split that into two or three meals for myself. The new owners have been great too and brought some nice little changes while still keeping the same home-made style.
Me and my wife decided to give this place another go after our first couple of meals we’re not great. Undercooked and tiny portions. We thought we would give them something easy to make for us. 2 poutines. Well each poutine had about 10 French fries that were cold on the inside still, a very small amount of cheese that wouldn’t even melt because the fries and gravy are so cold. Absolutely disappointing both poutines went straight to the bin.

Mae's Kitchen serves fresh and tasty food, including their popular chicken Cesar salad. The cafe is clean, and the service is friendly and quick. The atmosphere is a delight, with staff who are very welcoming and eager to make meals enjoyable. The restaurant is a positive influence in the community, supporting local events like Mirror Days. Customers appreciate the great food, such as piping hot and flavorful BLTs and hamburgers, along with large portions, especially the poutines, which can be split into multiple meals. While some have noted a slight tension due to a rivalry with another local cafe, Mae's Kitchen remains a welcoming place that keeps customers coming back for more. It's worth the little drive from Lacombe for dinner, especially when one doesn't feel like cooking. The new owners have brought nice changes while maintaining the same home-made style, making it a perfect stop for a bite to eat.
