“Great food we are regulars!“

“My partner and I had brunch for the first time at the Sweatered Hen on a whim and it was incredible. Firstly the staff was incredibly friendly. We were welcomed with a smile and our server asked if it was our first time there and then proceeded to answer any questions we had about the menu.

The atmosphere was very every pleasant. The dark walls mixed with the earthy accents of wood trim felt very cozy and inviting.

And now for the main course. The food was unbelievable. I had the Huevos Ranchero and my partner had the Henny Benny. The hollandaise sauce is phenomenal. We both agreed it was the best we've ever had. It didn't seem as heavy as other hollandaise sauce but the flavor is unbeatable. I'm usually a fast eater but the food was of such a high quality and taste that I ate slower than I ever have before, savouring every last bite and fighting the urge to lick my plate clean in front of a packed house.

10 out of 10 on all criteria. We will definitely be back for brunch again. We were also informed that they are now open for supper on Thursday to Saturday, serving from scratch pizza and pastas and we will definitely be trying that as well.

“I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, especially considering how affordable everything is. It’s rare to find a place where the prices are low but the quality doesn’t take a hit, and this spot really delivers. Every dish we tried tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with more care than you’d expect for the price point. I'm not saying the food was perfect or life changing, but very good for the price.

The portions were generous, the flavours were pretty on point, and it didn't feel “cheap” except the actual cost — which is a huge win. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite for your lunch break or planning a casual meal out, this is a great choice if you want good-quality food without spending a lot.

I will say that it does feel a bit like a cafeteria, which doesn't surprise me too much considering it's surrounded by office buildings all around downtown. It's not like a formal restaurant with table service, reusable plates and utensils and such, but still a very cozy little spot.

Overall, it’s a budget-friendly place that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality. It did lack a little authenticity and there are small things that lowered the taste experience a bit, but absolutely zero complaints for the price. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for great value at a cozy little spot.“

“Ari is amazing every time we visit. This is our go-to place if we want good, clean and autentic Japanese sushi! The food is always super fresh and very well prepapred, and the staff and owners are always so nice when we are there! “Frida’s Coffee Shop has been my go-to spot ever since it opened. As soon as you walk in, Frida—the owner—greets you with a warm smile. Shaheen and Juma are also incredibly friendly and always attentive to customers’ needs. The shop is cozy, clean, and just a few blocks from the Kerby C-Train station. If you’re driving, West Village offers heated parking on P1, and there’s also an Indigo open lot across the street. It’s a convenient place for a business meeting or simply catching up with friends. Truly an amazing spot whenever you need a dose of caffeine.“

“First visit here tonight, the beer was great (definitely try the Sahti!) and their bread and meat board was something else. However, I think my highlight here was the staff. The head brewer (owner I presume?) gave me a quick education on brewing Sahti and their baker chatted with us about how she makes her amazing bread and all the other in house items she makes. 100% recommend this little brewery and will definitely be back“

“I had frozen pork dumplings that I cooked at home. They were so delicious and I can’t wait to get more!!“

“I ordered the dill pickle burger of the month for my mom and me through DoorDash, along with a side of poutine. The burger was incredibly tasty and cheesy—the fried pickles on top gave it the perfect extra pickle kick, which I especially loved as a big pickle fan. You really can’t go wrong with it! The poutine was just the right size, and I was impressed that a side portion still felt generous. There was plenty of gravy too, so no chance of it being dry.

Leopold’s is easily one of my favourite places to eat. I love that they always feature a new burger of the month, and their ever-changing menu of goodies keeps me coming back for more!“

“We group of four people sat here at the rooftop. We ordered fish and chips, nachos and some beers. Food was average. It was raining before we went their so no one was at the patio, the server said if you need anything you need to go down at the bar order and collect it by yourself until a nice guy came and took over and said we will bring the food to you. “Oh my. Le Comptoir is a gem on the Marda Loop on 33rd at the edge of Altador in Calgary.

Note...the space is tiny. You'll be lucky to ever get a seat indoors. But there's also space outside. In the winter there's even a fire going outdoors.

The service is no nonsense straight to the point. I was cracking a joke but they just wanted my order. So maybe they could lighten up a bit. 😊

The food is top notch. The pastries, baking and coffee here is insanely good.

Fat head crust, Hawaiian pizza with pepperoni. totally GF and free of everything I had to worry about. Can't give this place enough stars. Best part I also purchased take and bake pizza for home. “We just got married here and could not be happier with our choice. Not only was the venue incredibly affordable, it was absolutely fantastic in every way. The team took care of set-up and take-down, and even added thoughtful little touches we hadn’t even considered — which made the day feel seamless and special.

The food was amazing — every dish was a hit with our guests, and they even went above and beyond to special order pretzels so we could have a fun pretzel wall at our reception. It was such a unique, memorable touch that everyone loved!

The bartenders were out of this world — I don’t think a single guest had to wait for a drink all night. Everything ran so smoothly, allowing us to truly enjoy our celebration without a single worry.

“Cute little cafe in downtown Calgary. Exceptional experience here just relaxing and sipping on a caramel Latte. The coffee is really good, it has great flavor and you can tell it's high quality. I love the minimalist interior and decor, soft cafe music playing in the background and plenty of natural light coming in through the windows.

This cafe is a bit small, but it's a popular spot with the locals. I do recommend coming here a bit earlier to get a free spot. If I lived in this area I could envision myself coming here to work from my laptop out of here, the sound doesn't echo and it's a super relaxed environment!“
