Kobachi Japanese Cuisine

Amazing experience at Kobachi! We came in as a group of 7, which is basically half their seating, and they accommodated us so graciously — truly grateful for that. The food was outstanding across the board, but the standout for me was the sable fish sushi — I'd never tried anything like it before, incredible texture and flavor. The wagyu beef tataki was also a fantastic way to try wagyu for the first time. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, and the staff were warm and accommodating the whole night despite how full we made the place. Highly recommend — will definitely be back!

Great sushi place! Some of the most delicious salmon I've had, and a few pretty fun appetizers. Shared some different plates with a small group of friends and everyone really enjoyed everything.

I had a wonderful meal here today. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted incredible.

The quality of the salmon sashimi was top-notch, and the presentation of the tofu in that rich, flavorful sauce was just perfect. I especially loved the little mountain of roe on the sushi platter. It is rare to find such consistent attention to detail. I will definitely be back soon.

I CANNOT FULLY EXPLAIN HOW GOOD IT IS!!! I try to get here as often as I can because it is so good. The sushi is amazing, and the service is top notch- even when they are busy. Do not hesitate. Try to book a reservation or go at odd times as they are busy.

Excellent food

Some of the freshest and more authentic sushi i’ve been able to find in Alberta, and very reasonably priced too. Great sake selection to pair. We really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and the staff who were very kind and knowledgeable about their menu.

Phenomenal experience. Amazing hospitality. Food is unreal and the ownership is kind and friendly. Highly recommend everyone check them out!

What an experience. All the sushi was so fresh and made with passion and care. I can’t remember all the names of the sushi we had but highlights were definitely the Engawa and Aburi Hotate. Recommend calling ahead for reservations as it’s a smaller restaurant and seating is limited. No complaints whatsoever and would definitely be back. Prices were fair for the care and quality of food received. Service was awesome and friendly. Looking forward to trying more!

I was in Sherwood Park for work and wanted an alternative to franchise-type restaurants. Kobachi came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is small, classic, laid-back and inviting. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The menu was well thought out with unique twists on classic Japanese food. I had miso soup, Brussels sprouts, agedashi tofu, and the sea biscuit. The latter was a fried rice cracker with a slice of avocado and salmon poke. Delicious! This spot is a gem.

This is a true gem in the region. We were looking for a new spot to try for my partner’s birthday with friends and found this place (45 minutes from home - but worth the drive!). It did not disappoint. I’ve been to many sushi restaurants throughout Canada - some great ones in Montreal and Toronto - and this goes on the list with the great sushi meals I’ve had. Each roll is thoughtful, put together in really beautiful ways that highlight the ingredients, and service is a true pleasure. It is an incredibly intimate experience (reserve your seat!), the dinner is paced so beautifully with attention to how and when rolls are served.

We loved every moment of this experience and will be back for more…. Thank you!

Went here for the first time today. I am now excited to wake up tomorrow morning because it means I might get the chance to eat here again. Amazing. 10/10 will return.
