Great food and atmosphere! One of the best sushi places I’ve been too in Edmonton. Cant wait to visit again!

If you're going to snub people at the front door for not making a reservation then your website should have a booking option. Honestly, the way I was talked down to makes me never want to even attempt eating here again. You're a small restaurant, this isn't NYC, offer the option to wait to be seated or make bookings easier.

Great little place! We were lucky to have a table that would seat 5 (with an extra chair pulled up). It accommodates smaller groups better. The food was fantastic and the sashimi bento had such tender and delicious fish.

I enjoyed everything we had there during our visit, food was very good, for the price with the amount of food, definitely on the pricy side.

This place is a gem! It is very small only seats about 20 people. The atmosphere is quaint and beautiful and the servers are attentive and kind.
Literally everything was good. The most impressive was the Zangi Chicken. It is incredibly hard to make a chunk of meat taste good... and let me tell you... it was so crunchy, so tender, and so juicy!!!
Do not hesitate to make a trip here 🥰.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Kobachi Japanese Cuisine. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and beautifully designed with authentic Japanese touches. The staff greeted me warmly and were incredibly attentive throughout the meal. I started with the miso soup, which was flavorful and comforting. The sushi platter I ordered was a true highlight — each piece was fresh, expertly crafted, and melted in my mouth. The variety of rolls and sashimi showed a great balance between traditional and creative options. I especially loved the dragon roll; the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The tempura was crispy without being greasy, and the dipping sauce complemented it perfectly. I also tried the teriyaki chicken, which was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous but not overwhelming, allowing me to enjoy every course without feeling stuffed. I appreciated the attention to detail, from the quality of ingredients to the artful plating. The green tea was fragrant and a nice way to cleanse the palate between dishes. The overall service was impeccable — polite, knowledgeable, and timely. The staff were happy to answer questions and made excellent recommendations. I also liked that the restaurant maintains a clean and comfortable environment, adding to the overall dining pleasure. Prices were reasonable given the high quality of food and service. Kobachi is a perfect place for both casual dinners and special occasions. The peaceful ambiance made it easy to relax and savor every bite. I left feeling fully satisfied and eager to return. I highly recommend Kobachi Japanese Cuisine to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Japanese food. It’s definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve visited!

Checked out Kobachi for the first time this evening. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be eating here again.
Some of our favorite dishes came from the specials board, so I’d highly recommend giving it a look. I’d also suggest making a reservation, as seating is quite limited.

The food here is always, always incredible. The sushi is fresh and prepared with care, and Ron and the staff are so lovely and kind! We love every dish we’ve tried, but our favourites are the negi toro maki, chicken tatsuge age, and beef tataki to name a few. The quality here is unmatched and if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Reservations are a must as it is a tiny but cozy space.

Easily the best sushi in Edmonton.
It didn't seem like they were really set up well for take out, but I quite enjoyed my meal. Take out was the only option, too, as the restaurant is very tiny, and I felt like I was intruding and hovering over diners when I came in to order lunch. But the food was great! I think this restaurant has outgrown the space though and it may be time to move.

We're frequent travelers to Japan, and this was by far the best Japanese food we've had outside of Japan! Oishi-desu!
