Jimmy's Sushi Restaurant

This is a hole in the wall typical Asian sushi place. I love the food and the service is absolutely awesome, but you have to get past the grungie; everything is so so good and fresh I try not to look too hard at cleanliness. We have only had one item so far that was not recommended and that was their fried Rice, it was so expensive. It did not taste that great and the quantity for the price was disappointing. We love the Bento box and every sushi roll I have tried has been spectacular. The pricing on those items are reasonable.

Took my daughter out here for some Sushi. Food was good and service wasn’t awful nor spectacular. Wasn’t super busy, a few open tables, but business was bustling away. Waitress seemed excited when we initially came in, but the demeanor changed slightly when I told her we needed to place the order to-go. She absolutely did her job well in upselling to dinner plates, lol. (Jimmy needs to give her a raise, lol.) I wish the menus explained better the ingredients (fish identification) on the menu or website somewhere. Daughter had fun guessing and deciding what she liked with her taste buds. Like what is the white meat/fish? Lol. Anyhow, I enjoyed my large dinner plate of sweet and sour chicken on bed of white rice. And some pork buns for my boys at home. I loved being able to get Chinese and Japanese food in the same place. Would go there again, ask way more questions, and be prepared for the upsale of a normal restaurant environment. $60order+20%Tip (maybe she was having a bad day and maybe this tip made her feel like my to go order wasn’t so worthless. Idk?)

I will never enter this establishment again. It feels like an Episode of Seinfeld, they do not let you order what you want, a perfect way to scam a customer who wants one meal into buying food for 5 people...everything is predetermined and you can only order pre determined meals, I tried to get chow mein and sesame chicken and she said it's not possible, they don't do that. What does that mean? Unbelievable, do not patron this establishment.

I had the Snow White sushi roll and the crab rangoons. The wrapper for the crab rangoons is thin and delicately crispy so you could appreciate the filling more while still enjoying the crunch. The Snow White roll was really good, it had a lot of flavors that were all in harmony with each other; and the crunchy stuff on top was delicate but very satisfying, making it more unique than most other crunchy sushi rolls I've had in Alaska since coming here. I live 20 minutes away, but I think this place is definitely worth the drive! I have to come back here. Service was quick and polite, it manages to have a quiet atmosphere but still be family friendly too. 💝

Wow. The takeout from here reached a new level of terrible. I paid around $70 to feed my family (wife and three kids under 10) and wound up having to cook more food when we were done eating. It was $25 for probably the worst tom kha soup I have ever eaten. If you are looking for decent Asian food, move along. This isn’t the place.

We had miso soup, yellow curry, bento with sesame chicken, and monster roll. All are excellent in flavor and presentation. Will return, may become a favorite.

Great tasting sushi, xiao long bao / soup dumplings, (called juicy dumplings in the menu), and fried options. Definitely will fill you up!
