Matanuska Brewing Eagle River

First time here. My chicken fried steak was delicious. Gravy good. Home fries good. Eggs poached to perfection, English muffin (I got on the side) nicely toasted. My husband got the heart attack and really enjoyed it—but it’s a lot of food, so he didn’t finish. Beer: He preferred the satisfaction feeling hazy IPA. Service okay. We will be back.

Best 25 dollar steak dinner in Anchorage or Eagle River! Service was a little slow. But good. Atmosphere was loud and too many tvs on but its a bar so....

Every place has bad days but I've come here seven times in almost four years. Great atmosphere kept bringing me back. Stick with the beer and the concerts. Maybe an overpriced fried appetizer you won't be too disappointed in. The actual food is a poor translation of the menu descriptions. $46.00 plus gratuity for three beers and a pizza that couldn't be warmed through on two attempts. I've seen enough.

I go here for the bar experience and to watch sports, but the food is great, and they are completely flexible on you changing anything they have on the menu to how you would like it.

Parking: There's parking in the front. If those spots are full, you can park on either side of the building and the lot behind the building.

Kid-friendliness: Very family oriented

Wheelchair accessibility: There is good wheelchair access and 2 handicap parking spots

The French Dip calzone style was yummy! Au Jus was a bit blah. Honey got the Pastrami Sliders and the beer cheese is delicious! Perfect for dipping fries in. We also got the Matanuska Pizza to go and was awesome, love the crust.

I used to like this place but the menu and management keeps changing. After a hour wait, Dinner tonight was terrible. Chicken sandwich tasted like old fryer grease, burgers were briquettes. Ordered a burger without cheese and it was wrong so they took it back scraped off the cheese and flipped it over and brought it back out. Server was actually very nice and they did comp food but I won’t go there again except for a beer. To bad as a local I really want it to be good.

Came on a Sunday night, it was not busy at all. Server was inattentive and had to wait 20 min with my card in hand for her to come over so I could pay.. Food is very bland. Nothing special. They give you ten french fries in a metal basket. Looks neat, but if I'm paying $25 for a mediocre burger I want more fries or a better side. Beer list is not good. They need to re-think their food and drinks. Won't be back.

I just had my burger re-done, and it’s still burnt! If there was an option for no stars. I would choose that.

Great food, friendly service, plenty of TVs for your sports. Not really reinventing the wheel here, but they don't need to. Turns out, that formula works for a reason.
