Mike's Quality Meats

I was surprised at the selection and variety of meats. The quality was high and I was very happy with the flavor and tenderness of our porterhouse and filet mignon steaks.

Great priced local butcher. We get all our meat here.

I ordered a crown pork rib roast on December 9 to be picked up on December 23. Called on the morning of the 23rd ask if my order would be ready I was told if I made the order it would be ready (okay rude). My husband went to Mikes to pick up the roast, waited in line for 20 minutes only to be told my order was not ready. They asked him if he could come back in the morning because he would get a better quality product. I went to go pick up my order in the morning to be greeted by a rude butcher, he wanted to argue with me about why my order was not ready.They don’t stand behind what they say and their customer service is beyond terrible .I’ve been shopping there for years and have spent a lot of money, however, this will be the last time!

We're a little over half way through our deluxe beef pak. The meat has a fresh beef flavor and good color, the pork is excellent, but haven't tried the chicken yet. We are very happy with it. We plan to get another pak soon. The only reason not 5 stars, some of the wrapping tape was off so several wanted to unroll. And a few paks the stamp wasn't readable. Neither a really big deal but attention to detail during order processing could be better.

Twice now I have gone to Mike’s Quality Meats in search of beef knuckle bones for making soup, and twice now I have been disappointed. On my latest attempt, I called ahead to verify they would be in stock and the employee on the phone confirmed that they were. I doubled down and asked if they had an amount in excess of what I needed for my recipe, and the employee confirmed again that they did. I arrived promptly following this phone call to find their entire “bone freezer” empty. Unfortunately misleading customer experience.

I've been shopping at Mike's meats for the last 13 years lately every month the whole staff turns over tonight I spent $184 bucks I got home my hamburger in the middle of it there was just grayish meat I'm packing up my sirloins now half of them are grayish looking like I said every month the whole staff turns over what's that tell you I will never buy meat from there again after buying meat from there for over a dozen years it used to be the staff was the same now big big turnovers and the quality of meat going down... Basically the sirloin and hamburger has turned into dog food in my opinion

Greg and staff are amazing! They offer the highest quality products in the Eagle River/Anchorage area! I especially love being treated to authentic Greek treats! Greg's lovely girlfriend's amazing spanakopita literally brought tears to my eyes. It was that amazing!

My wife and I stopped in because we were interested in some grass fed beef and chicken etc. There was no one in the shop, we wondered around and our impression was the smell off putting for sure, the shop seems TIRED.. The cases needed cleaning and the way the meat is displayed doesn't give you confidence in their product. We promptly left without speaking with anyone, needless to say we're looking for a better shop possibly directly from a producer.

I wasn't impressed with this place the first time I was there to get some ground beef. The ground beef was cheap compared to what I've been paying for at the local grocery stores. My beef with this place is the lack of customer service. The people there seem rather arrogant and unfriendly. I mean, couldn't you even put a smile on your face!?I was at Mr. Prime Beef in Anchorage and the atmosphere was definitely way better. The people there were so friendly and nice. I'd highly recommend Mr. Prime Beef over Mike's though it's further away from where I live, close to Hatcher Pass.

Normally this place is best there is. Sadly in the last 3-4 months they have been pretty bad. Selection has been very low, out of a lot of stuff pretty consistently. The last 3 times I've been there the cuts aren't good. Selling Prime meat that is obviously Choice and uneven cuts on things like ribeye where one side is 1 inch and the other 1/2. With the price of beef these two things should be perfect every time. Hopefully they get it together but for now I'll go to Mat Valley or Mr. Prime.

If you want to give yourself hours of extra work and ruin your family events or holidays than I suggest ordering meats from this awful business. Our last order was a large order and the brilliant meat packers lumped pounds and pounds of meat together without even thinking that someone would have to re-package and separate it. We were able to move past it until late last evening when we realized the 10 pounds of leg of lamb we ordered was indeed only 5. Sadly we were so busy for an entire day re-packaging the poorly packed order that we didn’t realize this major screw up. I trusted that my order was correct and unfortunately it was not. I have a house full of company today for the holiday and not even close to enough meat. Nothing is open and they have essentially almost wrecked our family meal. Thankfully my bestie saved the day, but I will never order from them again and I will be sure to let all my friends, family and patients I do business with know what a poorly run place this is. Shame on this business. Should be zero stars not 1.

Never going to order from here again, I keep opening bad meat after bad meat

$1000 meat order for bush AK.... New york steaks about 30 membrane and/or palm size. Roast was mostly fat, short ribs were all fat, what's left is bite size.... all meats were still very bloody like the cow was not hung long enough

It's a very nice meat market,the quality of the meat there is excellent,and the staff is very friendly
