While visiting Fairbanks, I had lunch at The Fudge Pot not once but twice - two days in a row! My husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches and chatting with the staff who were all courteous and professional. We ordered takeout but were happy to wait because the restaurant is beautifully decorated and inviting. I highly recommend The Fudge Pot for delicious sandwiches (and pasta salad, as a side).

Fudge Pot does great gluten free sandwhiches. Great, quick service even on busy days. I always recommend it to my tour groups, I’ve heard they have great salmon chowder too

The food here was good and the fudge was delicious. But we had a service issue which was handled poorly. We ordered the soup of the day, a side salad, and a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. The person didn’t charge me for the soup initially, but I reminded them to add it to the bill. The soup and salad were delivered promptly. But the grilled cheese was not. We asked about it and eventually a server came over and explained that another table answered to our name (Rivers), and took our sandwich. So they re-made it and brought it out and apologized. Fast forward to the end of the meal. I was still hungry, so I decided to make a second order. I got an oat milk hot chocolate and vanilla caramel black sea salt fudge. The person didn’t charge me for the oat milk so I reminded them to add it to the bill. The server who dropped off the sandwich was walking by and told the person at the register to charge me for a grilled cheese sandwich. I explained I already paid and showed them the receipt. The server walked me over to the table who accepted our sandwich originally and she said, this person took your sandwich, and you should pay for it. I was so offended. The family sitting there got involved and agreed to pay for the sandwich but the server never apologized to me. So offensive to accuse me of stealing, after I reminded them to charge me for everything I consumed. What a terrible customer service experience. Server was an older woman with blonde, curly hair and a ponytail. Ruined my whole experience there.

Ate there for the first time this weekend--busy and phoned in an order for pickup. The service!!! It was so great! The person that answered the phone was quick and friendly, and they made my lunch faster that I could walk across the street! It was simple and perfect, just what I wanted. Their salmon chowder is delicious, but I was pretty mad I wasn't sitting by the windows people watching, instead of grabbing and going. I'll be back!

What a great place! Gluten free options and bread. A special team of staff members and wonderful food. The amaretto fudge was a religious experience all on its own. A must do.
Enjoyed the sandwiches. We heard the BLT was great. We had a ham & Swiss and a roast beef. Both were excellent. The salmon chowder was delicious. You order at the counter, and the staff were very pleasant. There are some cute tables and chairs where you can sit and eat. Would eat here again when in downtown Fairbanks.

We stopped on a Sunday with a tour and this little oasis was worth the stop for a light lunch option. Good food, great service!
One really nice feature was the free water station. Dear sweet owner-would you consider providing a similar water station for the homeless who hangout at the park across the street? That was the one thing a beautiful woman named Clara (my moms name!) asked me for that I couldn't give her. That would be a wonderful gesture. ?

Female manager/owner was rude to us when we walked in. The male manager/owner was rude to his younger employee who was at the register. She was doing a great job helping us and taking our order at the register, and while we were asking about the fudge, she paused to form her answer thoughtfully, and while thinking, he says to her, right in front of us, “well do your job”, basically telling her to get our order. I thought he was so rude to her and totally unnecessary. Not sure if this is how the owners/managers are with other minority employees but it was off putting.
Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility. The restaurant is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs.
