Latitude 65 is a restaurant located on top of a hill, providing incredible views through its expansive windows. The roomy Alaskan yurt setting offers a unique and memorable dining experience. The food is a highlight, with locally sourced ingredients showcased in each dish. Chef George Easter is known for his mastery of flavors and thoughtfulness in every meal. Standout dishes include scallops with candied mustard seeds and pickled grapes, Alaskan halibut with morel cream sauce, and baked Alaska. The soup is also a must-try. The breakfast buffet is solid but nothing special, featuring a fantastic omelette bar, yogurt, and granola. The dinner menu features excellent dishes like pan-seared duck breast, steaks, risotto, and pork belly, though portions can be small for the price. Guests have mentioned the burgers on the pub menu, served in the lounge area, which offers a more casual vibe with mostly two-person high-top tables. The main dining room is gorgeous and perfect for special occasions, while the pub provides a more affordable option with equally beautiful views. The service is exceptional, with cheerful and attentive staff like Eugene making the experience even better. The complimentary bread is some of the best around, and the bourbon selection is good. Overall, Latitude 65 is a nice restaurant, giving the circumstances that it is the only restaurant at Borealis Basecamp. Be ready to spend, but the quality of food, service, and ambiance makes it an amazing place to remember.
