Latitude 65 restaurant was a bad experience. We were excited to dine here but the service was poor, the food was either too sweet or salty), and overall didn’t have a good experience.Ambience: The view from the corner seats is really nice. The space is heated so it’s warm and cozy.Breakfast: The breakfast is good with a live omelette bar but they ran out of it on 2nd dayDinner: Disappointing service. The service is outright bad. We tried our best to cheer ourselves up but it just got bad to worse. After having paid almost twice the cost than in other restaurants and there being no other option around, we expected better from them!

Latitude 65 is more than just a meal, it is an experience! The restaurant is inside a roomy Alaskan yurt located on top of a hill that offers incredible views out of the expansive windows. I am still thinking about watching the gorgeous sunset while we ate dinner. That isn’t even the best part. The food is fantastic. Chef George Easter is truly a master of showcasing locally sourced fresh food and flavors. Everything we ate was delightful. We had appetizers, main course and dessert. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful view, absolutely great service but the food isn’t worth the price. We ate 2 dinners and 1 lunch, and it was overall food. The steak was chewy and It didn’t had and salt. For a 70$ dish you expect having at least well done potatoes, some were raw, some overcooked on one side. Really disappointing. The salmon was fine, but the burger, risotto and sandwiches were literally like a average restaurant in America, for a much more expensive price.

Wow. This restaurant is amazing. Such delicious food, each meal incredible with layers of flavor and thoughtfulness. The chef cooks with so much love and it shows. He truly has a gift with soup, and for making the Alaskan ingredients stars on each plate. We stayed at Borealis Basecamp for three nights and the food at Latitude 65 was an absolute highlight. Scallops with candied mustard seeds and pickled grapes, Alaskan halibut with a morel cream sauces from mushrooms the chef harvested himself, short ribs wow, and a really really good burger. Every dish we had was so special. And all with a spectacular view and wonderful service. Really grateful I got the chance to enjoy this.

This is only dining option offered on the premise. Overall it was a great experience. I think folks should come here expecting this restaurant and its quality of food to be closer to a semi fine dining experience for dinner. The restaurant is farm to table and prices are reflective of all of this, too. Booking: We only had dinner here, which is by reservation only. You can call the front desk to book. They do also serve breakfast and lunch and that you do not need a reservation. We did see the prices for the restaurant ahead of time on tripadvisor, and so our expectations coming in were appropriately set knowing it would be $25-90 per entree. Food: 1. Complimentary bread and butter Amazing. Homemade and warm sliced bread with butter. There were some notes of garlic and the crust was perfectly crisp. The host raved about the bread and we agreed, it was a great. 2. Roasted beet salad If you are a fan a beet salads then you will like this dish. The honey Dijon vinaigrette was really good. 3. Soup of the day: Bison & Reindeer chili For folks looking to try reindeer for the first time then, I would not recommend this dish. The chili flavor profiles (e.g tomato) will mask the standalone meat flavor so it will be challenging to really "try" and taste reindeer. Maybe go for the reindeer sausage entree if that really is your goal. However, the bison/reindeer meat itself was nice and tender and the dish was not watery. Overall I finished this dish with an impression that it was like a standard bowl of chili; nothing special or disappointing about it. 4. Latitude65 Burger Solid burger, we got the patty cooked medium. This is the most affordable entree on the menu and it didn't disappoint. The potatoe side was just okay though. Be aware the burger was on the smaller side for folks who may have a larger appetite. 5. Mushrooms and squash risotto This was our favorite dish of the night. Creamy and rich. The mushrooms flavors really did stand out. 6. Special pasta: halibut (60$) The halibut was very tender and cut into cubes in the dish. They were quite generous with the amount of fish in the dish. The dish itself had a great flavor balance where you could taste each ingredient and it wasn't just the fish leading the way to make it taste great. Second favorite dish of the night. Drinks: They do offer a drink menu, didn't get a picture of this but it includes cocktails, beers and wine. The cocktail menu is also available at the lounge in front of the restaurant. Beers include options from Alaskan breweries and the cocktails included some options that fit the winter theme of basecamp such as mulled wine or hot butter rum. Service: Friendly and attentive staff. Warning: there is a charge to share/split a dish. Otherwise, expect each person to order one item.

Food is ok! Good service but head waiter needs to be friendlier! He came off as stiff & strict! VERY EXPENSIVE!!

Over all we did enjoy our experience but I would think that the experience would have been at least more consistent for the price. I appreciate what they are trying to do with the food but on the night we went it just was not executed well. The scallop appetizer did not have a grain of salt in it and was just hard to taste because it was so bland. The soup on the other hand was very nice and seasoned well. My wife ordered a medium rare steak and it was definitely rare at best she had to just eat the outside of the steak. My poached halibut was over cooked and dry and also needed more salt. My bison that was sold to me as “tender and melt in your mouth” was both very dry and chewy. The hostess that sat us was stand-offing and did not make us feel welcome. Our waitress on the other hand was a delight and very friendly and was the nicest part of the evening. I would have loved to be excited to come back, we were excited to go. But for $220 for 2 and the food be highly mediocre it’s hard to say I’ll be back.

The food tonight was amazing, the chef has a way with combining flavours that works. The mission fig and kale salad was fresh and well presented, also delicious. The daily special was Sable fish, served with polenta, dragon fruit puree, an interesting aioli, and grilled zucchini. The fish was mild and cooked perfectly, the rest of the meal complimented it perfectly,The cheesecake was extremely smooth. You won't be disappointed!

We had lunch & supper here for several days. The food was out of this world! Everything was unlike food in the lower 48 states. Even the sweet potatoes were something I can’t recreate! I had Kobe for the first time & the chef set the bar high for the next time I try it. This is only on the menu when it’s available & is the real deal flown in from Japan. There were 2 Hollywood actors eating beside us & one told the chef he has eaten Kobe all over the world & his is the best. The views are stunning, just like the food!

We stayed at Borealis Basecamp and so ate here for several dinners, lunches, and breakfasts. The service was great and the food was consistently delicious with good service. Let me tell you, the BREAD. You will beg for more. The lunch menu was great. The cheeseburger was to die for. The dinners were unique and interesting, mostly everything was delicious. The kale salad was eh, that was the only thing I didn't enjoy. A few more options on the dinner menu would help for those of us spending 3-4 nights here.

You cannot find a better date spot or fine dining experience in Fairbanks. This is a hidden gem run by Chef George and his talented staff. They favor flavor over portions so if you’re looking for a hearty meal please come early and get a couple of drinks and apps at the bar out front. They are amazing too!! The food is amazing and both flavorful and visually appealing. The menu uses local fresh ingredients and the desserts are made daily by Chef George and his masterful su-chef Benji. All of that is amazing… and then you have the views!! If you’re lucky like us, you’ll see the auroras directly from the restaurant! The views of the Borealis forest are to die for and complement the delicious food.Their bourbon bar has the best selection I’ve seen almost anywhere and the beers and wines are top notch. My wife and I have been coming here for two years and it gets better and better!Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options. Chef makes his dishes to order.Kid-friendliness: No yelling kids, but well-mannered children are welcomed.Parking: Tons of Parking. But limited seating. Get reservations!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Snow and ice are possible, but the yurt is on one level and very well suited for anyone old or young.Dietary restrictions: Chef is amazing with these and can substitute upon request.

Best anniversary dinner I could have asked for being at Latitude 65! Chef curated a perfect menu for the Meals on Wheels fundraiser. Everything about this restaurant is perfection. Absolute best place to eat in Fairbanks, no competition. Thank you to everyone at Latitude 65 who made our experience memorable last night!Anyone who poorly rates this restaurant simply does not understand that this is a unique fine dining experience. If you want overly salted slop on a plate, go to most of the other bland restaurants in Fairbanks. At Latitude 65, every single element in every single dish goes flawlessly together. I appreciate all of the thought, prep, time, and vision these Chefs put into their courses. It's worth every penny to have a wonderful dining experience in a beautiful place!
