This was our first visit to this restaurant as it came highly recommended. We ordered a combo plate which included chicken katsu, pulled pork & chicken teriyaki and a poke bowl which we chose the “808” poke. The food actually looked amazing when it was served! Unfortunately to our disappointment on the very first bite of the chicken katsu… it was COLD! I got the attention of the server and inquired if that is how the chicken katsu is normally served? She did not know and had to inquire in the back nor did she get back to us on our inquiry. On a good note, the pulled pork was very good! The second issue we had was with the poke bowl. The “808” poke bowl we received did not have any imitation crab meat. Upon inquiring with the server, she checked in the back and came back stating they were running low on imitation crab meat and put very little. The poke bowl we ordered did not have any imitation crab meat at all. The employees working at this business definitely did not represent the mission of this business and completely failed in customer service.

This place is crazy good. Fairbanks is a little bit of a challenge when it comes to finding good food but you definitely need to try this place. Portions are super generous, staff is great, and they’re super quick. Do you want a welcoming environment, good food, and good vibes? This is your place.

One thing about living in Fairbanks we don't have to leave town to have international cuisine what a surprise I had when I sat down and started my meal I stopped immediately I wanted a photograph and I wanted to post it the spam was so surprising period wrapped in rice and a crust that seemed to me to be fried corn unfortunately the waitress did know. The rice was firm sweet an amazingly tasty to be plain white. The macaroni salad had a slight bite which made it even more interesting. Nothing I can say about the place was disappointing and the employees seem quite genuine. Don't miss out. Give them a try.

The second picture what's my dinner. The first one was a group of soldiers leaving as I was arriving. I was concerned that maybe they didn't like the food. There was so much of it left. Well they boxed it all up and I asked them what they thought. They all eagerly complimented restaurant and the food and the large portions. We have to remember soldiers don't eat quite as much as they did in the 60s and 70s

Always amazing! If dining in just be aware the parking lot is small. But I know people can manage and we have before. I love the food here and the people who work here! My friend got me some comfort food while I was stuck at home to help me fedl better. And as always food is amazing.

If you go there with a big group of people you'll realize that they give the same salad and macaroni mix to each dish, which should be reflected in the price. I absolutely love that tuna Pokeball and will come again for it. Its the best dish they have, I wish they had more raw fish dishes.

It's wonderful to see how the building has been remodeled to house SUKA'S. The new paint and decorations are a nice touch. The wall with family photos is a wonderful touch to the atmosphere.

I personally enjoyed the food, you can't go wrong with chicken katsu. SUKA'S did a wonderful job, the chicken was tender and juicy and the breading was wonderfully crunchy. I was enlightened to see the incorporation of chamoy and tajin in the fruit smoothies, I would say they may even be under-hyped. I was offered to try the papaya soup special, I enjoyed it. I would describe it as a mildly sweet and refreshing tapioca pudding. It was a great pallet cleanser.
Service was very attentive, there was very little wait for food and employees were very kind and pleasant.

Some things to note, when receiving garlic shrimp the shrimp was still shelled, I'm unsure if this was intentional or unintentional and I personally feel ambivalent to it. The shrimp itself was delicious, and the napkins on the table were very appreciated when de-shelling them.
On another note I think SUKA'S would bring it from clarifying more about the difference between a bowl and a plate on their menu. From what I understand bowls are smaller servings that cost less compared to plates.
The last thing I would mention is the service staff were slightly too attentive, but as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry I don't hold this against them at all. I'm sure SUKA'S is still figuring out a flow and with time things will be running even more smoothly. :)

20/10 this place is amazing and true to the culture. I felt like I was family from the moment I walked in and miss ma’am said the warmest “Hello!”. It broke the chilling bite of the Alaskan air from my 2hr drive up. The katsu rice bowl blessed my soul and the rich coffee made me feel like I was at home next to an open flame. I loved this stop on my journey home. Will be back every time I visit.

The other day I needed a quick and easy lunch, so I went with the traditional musubi and a side of mac salad. It was perfectly filling! On days when I have a bigger appetite I love the fried musubi bowl or the pulled pork bowl.
