This place is a fricking diamond. I’ve spent A LOT of time in Thailand, and went here on a recommendation from a local. And wow! This is Thailand in Alaska. Every dish made with super fresh produce and meat. And made the real Thai way. Chef Joy was a pleasure to chat with. And she truly cares about serving her food the way it’s intended. If it’s supposed to be spicy, then it will be spicy. Enjoy a real taste of Thai cuisine here. Aroy mak mak!

Lovely Thai eatery serving authentic comfort dishes. Their shrimp pad thai was the best. They use fresh ingredients & the flavours were well balanced. I love that they added tofu & shredded cabbage. I enjoyed their Thai iced tea as well. This is one of my favourite meals during my trip. The owner Joy is wonderful. We had a nice chat. This is a hidden 💎 in Fairbanks. Right next to the farmer's market. An absolute must visit!

Arrogant rude owner,princess thinks it's her rules if you don't turn in the right the way she likes it and she will let you know at the pick up window. Even if you picked just up a $$$ meal for 2. Three times is a charm ! That woman can crack a smile from the heart...only in her fancy pictures.

Joy saved the last ingredients for a papaya salad for me, and also made a most delicious tofu larb salad. Nothing like enjoying music at the Farmers Market, seeing and talking to wonderful people there while waiting to get my order. And then enjoying the sand hill cranes too on pond behind on this most wonderful sunny holiday weekend Saturday. Grateful for what we have here in Fairbanks, if I recall correctly, Joy had a restaurant, was a chef from San Francisco, and always wears the Thai outfits too so beautifully.
Vegetarian options: Tofu Larb is recommended. My favorite.

I had the best experience at Bangkok Thai! Joy was a complete Joy. She took great care in cooking my vegetarian pad Thai and it had the richest flavor I have ever tasted. The tofu was perfect! I also had the green tea drink that was the exact amount of sweet! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

RUDE OWNER AND FOOD WRONG! I had never eaten here before and decided to give it a try because my regular Thai place was closed. I ordered over the phone after work and went to pick it up. As I pulled in, on the right side of the shack it said place order here, then the left side said pickup. There are no signs posted saying one way, or do not enter. So I thought maybe I go to the left on the pickup side, but that seemed odd cause then I'd have to grab my food across the passenger side. I pulled up then realized I probably did pull in the wrong way and was about to start moving to turn around, no cars were around, and the owner opened the window and started aggressively telling me to turn back around, which that didn't bother me cause I did pull up wrong and it was my error. However, I turn my car around and then as I'm paying with a different employee, the owner shouts over asking "do you live here?" I said yes but I've never been here before since I'd normally eat at Pad Thai. She then proceeds to belittle me and say how did I think I could pick up my food that way and goes on trying to insult me. I always tip, but the fact she chose to be rude as I'm paying, I decided to not tip for once. THEN I get home and see my dish that I ordered with tofu, is full of chicken and not a single piece of tofu! I called them and told them the food was wrong and the owner said I could get it replaced, but I was so furious at this point and told her I didn’t want to come back to replace it. She then tried calling me back to offer a refund. If she had simply been nice and not gone out of her way to degrade me when I picked up the food, then I would have agreed to that and given them a second chance! I have 10 years of restaurant experience, restaurant supervisor for 3 years, and now work in tourism. It is ridiculous to be that rude to new customers and I will continue eating at my regular Thai place.
