At $12 for two peace’s of Salmon sushi you would think it would be a quality piece of salmon. It was cut so thin that you could see through it. It would fall apart when you picked it up with the chop sticks. We were here a few years ago and the quality was good. It’s to bad that it’s not what it used to be. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We sat at the sushi bar and it was fabulous. The chef was engaging and made delicious sushi. He overheard about our birthdays and offered us a dessert in celebration. We chose the matcha coconut ice cream. Delectable dinner with hospitable hosts.

Highly recommend!! The sushi here was super fresh and very tasty!! Our server was great and our food was served pretty fast even with our party of 6. Not a lot of seating inside so recommend making a reservation.

I’ve been to Japan twice. I’m a foodie. This was seriously good sushi! The salmon was some of the best I’ve ever had. Wow!

My family came here last Fall when my mother and sister were in town visiting us. We were waiting for this restaurant to open for the evening so we got seated right away. It is a smaller restaurant but tastefully decorated. There is a small bar area you can see the chef making sushi. Everything was delicious from the drinks, appetizer, sushi, ramen and dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was beautifully presented. Sunomono salad with octopus was tasty and flavorful. We also got the Crispy Rice Spicy tuna appetizer; good portion…delicious. Albacore & Onion; another delicious dish. We liked everything we had ordered and ate. All the sushi was very fresh. Would recommend and will come back.

On 07/22 at around 8 PM we ordered edamame, cucumber salad, Gyoza, tonkatsu ramen, and the cowboy roll to-go. When we arrived at home we realized that we did not receive the edamame even though we paid the full price. Please kindly refund for the edamame.

During our stay at the Alyeska Resort, we gratefully decided to dine at Sakura Asian Bistro. Thank goodness we did! It was just spectacular! Our server Clinton made it even more amazing, with his attentive and exemplary service. The Dynamite roll was the BEST and the Crab hand roll was just as delicious. The Ramen and the Spicy Rock Shrimp were out of this word! I wish we lived closer. I'd go everyday. Thank you Alaska for this gem.

My family has ate at sushis restaurants all over the world and Sakura has been, by far, the best. Everything about it was amazing. The host, Reese, was on top of his game. The server, Maya, was kind, attentive, and educated. The ramen chef, Matt, prepared a dish that my discerning 3 year old loved. The sushi chefs, Shun and Shane, prepared the best sushi I have ever ate. On top of it all, the price for everything was incredibly reasonable (given the quality). In short, if you come to Alyeska or Gridwood, this is a restaurant that cannot be missed. If I could give more than 5*s, I would.

The restaurant had discrimination and racism issues. We were treated different than other people. There were not a lots of people in the restaurant. But we still waited for a long time to get food orders. I took super long for them to serve us water and foods. They gave us the wrong food, we told them, they didn’t apologize for the mistake. And we must have them the tips even though we are thirsty and hungry at the restaurant. The ramen tasted super salty and without any soup. Bad experience in Alaska.

I cannot believe the level of discrimination and racism I experienced at Sakura Restaurant, especially from the front receptionist named Reese. The ambiance of this place is absolutely appalling, and I felt so unwelcome and disrespected during my entire visit. It is completely unacceptable to be treated this way, and I will never be returning to this establishment. I urge others to think twice before supporting a business that condones such behavior.

My recent visit to Sakura Restaurant was extremely disappointing. The service was very bad Reese the receptionist/Host uninviting. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

They were very busy Friday night in off season, people were waiting two hours for a table, and even though they said they do take out the kitchen was overwhelmed this night and they could not get around to doing that. Was hoping for a nice bowl of ramen on such a cold night but oh well. No one answered the phone either.

Rude host with a bad attitude. Will not be eating here.
