I cannot believe the level of discrimination and racism I experienced at Sakura Restaurant, especially from the front receptionist named Reese. The ambiance of this place is absolutely appalling, and I felt so unwelcome and disrespected during my entire visit. It is completely unacceptable to be treated this way, and I will never be returning to this establishment. I urge others to think twice before supporting a business that condones such behavior.

My recent visit to Sakura Restaurant was extremely disappointing. The service was very bad Reese the receptionist/Host uninviting. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

They were very busy Friday night in off season, people were waiting two hours for a table, and even though they said they do take out the kitchen was overwhelmed this night and they could not get around to doing that. Was hoping for a nice bowl of ramen on such a cold night but oh well. No one answered the phone either.

Rude host with a bad attitude. Will not be eating here.

Great spot for dinner at Hotel Alyeska. It's a small restaurant, so call ahead for a reservation. Luckily, we are staying at the hotel and they texted us when our table was ready. There is a large table that seats about 20 in the middle of the restaurant. Everyone shares the table. I'd rather have a little privacy while I eat with my family, but it's a small restaurant and you have to make do with what you have.We got:Edamame - They were really good. Definitely enough for my daughter, wife, and me to share.Ramen - The picture of the Ramen in the elevator looked prettier than what I got, but it was still very good. Highly recommend it.Black Cod - This was really good. Surprisingly, it was a very large piece and not expensive at all. I'm getting this if we ever come back.White King Salmon nigiri - It was OK. I would not get this again.

Enjoyed this place very much! Sat at the counter and the chefs were very friendly and made delicious food. One was even making a few cocktails along the way. Great spot.

Vegan and vegetarian friendlyThe chef made us a vegetarian spicy sushi roll and a non-spicy sushi roll (chefs choice/creativity) and it was sooo good! The non-spicy one had thin slices of mango.Best vegetarian roll I’ve had in Alaska ❤️Vegetarian options: Miso, tempura, gyoza, salads, sushi rollsDietary restrictions: They will accommodate vegetarian and vegan requests

Great food!! I’m gluten free so I had the edamame & the steak. Our server was really nice, we were sitting at the big family-style table with other people but we didn’t mind at all. My husband had the ramen and crab sushi roll and loved them! We had the flourless cake for dessert and it was so beautifully decorated and delicious!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

This is my favorite sushi place that I’ve been to at any ski resort in North America. Amazing fish, well prepared, and great menu. When I think of visiting Alyeska / Girdwood, I think of the skiing first, this sushi restaurant second, and everything else a distant third.

This was an OK restaurant. It had a beautiful atmosphere and very nice staff. However, the dishes could have been fine-tuned significantly more. It was clear there was a North American slant on the intended interpretation as it didn't display typical Japanese characteristics. Some of these dishes could be served with a very high degree of refinement and attention to detail if desired. However, this isn't necessarily the case at this restaurant. Dishes are seemingly designed to meet fairly standard expectations. This is where the price-point and the intention were kind of at odds, and the opportunity to fully showcase Alaskan produce was maybe missed. I would've expected lower prices akin to a local restaurant at this level of achievement. Still, there were some very nice flavour combinations and it was pleasing to not have everything drowned in thick sauces. Be sure to use silken tofu for Agedashi Tofu, and be careful not to cook it until it's hard! Be gentle and don't overcomplicate.

Cool experience to sit at the sushi bar while chatting with chef Anthony and team. Great food and great service. Had salmon collar, pork ramen, gyoza, and some rolls, all were excellent. It does get busy so have a little patience while they sort through take-out orders and seating large families.
