Absolutely phenomenal!!! Our cruise ship tendered us out to do shore excursions and we ended up stranded for a bit so many of us flocked to Alpenglow from the recommendation of our guides and the locals and I can’t overstate how great these people are at their jobs! As someone with links to Chicago, I know a good pizza when I see and taste one and this would rival even some of those restaurants. Wonderful work ethic and positivity which helped brighten up a dreary day! In fact, the whole town is just awesome. I don’t know if I’ll ever travel back to Alaska but if I do, Haines is the place to be!

I had the Diavala pizza. Wow! The ingredients are fresh and the combination was probably the best pizza I've had. The store is in downtown Haines and easy to find. There are many choices and they're all baked in a fire oven with the lovely char on the bottom. I highly recommend this restaurant! Oh, and it was fast.

We were so excited to find wood fired pizza. But, alas, our excitement was ill founded. Yes, their crust was great. But the service was mediocre and the place was less than clean. Only one (out of two) of the bathrooms were in service and it was disgusting. They don't serve beer or wine, as the Google listing claims, and their soda dispenser wasn't working either. Basically a big bummer

We were craving pizza and this was over and above what we were needing! We ordered the rainbow salad to share and the supreme pizza. The salad was phenomenal and the pizza was so yummy! Great flavors and perfect crust. We saw the sign to bus our table but the bin for dirty dishes was over full, so rather than load everything on the trash can or over fill the bin, we left the dishes on the table, all stacked up on the pizza pan. I was surprised that the staff hollered at us as we were leaving to put the dishes in the bin. Like, hollered at us, across the restaurant. Left a bad taste in my mouth. We were there at 4pm - not a super busy time. So, bus your own table, folks. Even if the dirty dishes bin is full. 😳

The crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings fresh and flavorful, and the service was warm and welcoming. It has that laid-back, casual Alaskan vibe that makes you want to stay a while. Great food, friendly people, and a charming atmosphere...what more could you ask for? Don’t miss it if you’re in town! Highly recommended!

Updated and upgraded overall rating on 7-23-25 because the restaurant read my review and responded within a couple days of our visit I bumped their rating up. The owner response means a lot to me and suggest they are welcoming feedback. The owner comments reflected that they read my review also and not just a standard response. I recommend this place and would go back.
Original: The pizza was decent. We had the supreme. The toppings were good. The sausage was crumbly which is different but good and not too spicy. There is only one size of pizza which was on the small side for us but two would have been too much. We got there too late for sit down so it’s nice they still have a take out option but be advised. The pizza was ready in about 45 minutes and it was hot.

The pizza crust was perfect (thin and crisp) and the toppings top notch. But the rainbow salad was superb, with lots of goat cheese and pecans. Would definitely come here regularly if I lived in town.
