AJ's OldTown Steakhouse & Tavern

Nice place, nice restaurant, clean and good atmosphere. The owner has been very welcoming as well as the waitress. Meat was excellent , wine choice and sweet as well. I would return and I would recommend. Price was right for what we got.

Made it to Homer for an anniversary trip and quickly sought out AJs for dinner on the strong recommendation of a friend. Excellent- did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was out of this world. I had the filet and added scallops and the goat cheese butter topping. Top notch. Would highly recommend- does not disappoint-lives up to its already amazing reputation.

I did not request any particular table for the evening. Gerald had us seated in the back but my wife does not like the back, so Gerald moved us to the front by the windows. Thank you Gerald. He was very gracious. He even had a card signed by the entire staff for our 55th wedding anniversary. As usual the staff did an excellent job and the food was outstanding. Their steaks are really good steaks. All in all, we had a wonderful evening dining out at AJ's. I had three of our grandchildren deliver 55 roses to our table to participate in our celebration. Without a doubt, AJ's is the best restaurant; my son and grandchildren had a wonderful dinner. The wait staff was quite attentive and very pleasant. Dinner arrived shortly and we ate everything. Thank you.

Awesome service by our waitress Jenine! Overall door was good but steaks pretty over cooked. The gentleman playing guitar and singing did a phenomenal job.

The ribeye steak with bleu cheese fondue is amazing. Very tender and cooked perfect! The live singing the night we were there, just added to the cozy experience!

Nice place with a local vibe. Steaks are generally under temperature, but the kitchen did a good job on the recook (hard to do). I recommend this for dinner.

I have given AJ's good reviews before but this is not one of those. Slow service, mediocre food, and indifference by servers and management made this an experience to forget. We have been eating at AJs every other week and they are consistently inconsistent. Their menu has not charged in the five years we've lived here, so you would think they would know how to make a Caesar salad and grill some chicken. We like the ambience of the place but when it is crowded it is hard to hear the guitar player we like to see and hear. It will be a while before we will try again .

The service and food are always top notch at AJs! It's our favorite restaurant in Alaska by far and worth the stop if you are in Homer! Amazing steaks and really good cocktails.

Where do I start? The scallops cooked to perfection? The blackened sesame ahi tuna that melts in your mouth? Or, the crème brûlée that was the best I've ever tasted? Then again, maybe it was the piano softly playing in the background and the excellent service. Don't miss this hidden gem just off the beaten path in Homer!

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. Best meal we’ve had in a long time! We started with crusted mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and a balsamic reduction. I got seared tuna with scallops and my husband got prime rib. Absolutely incredible.
