Amazing food. Fresh, delicious, and well priced. I was a small shack and we ordered out of a window (very casual). Found a picnic table nearby with a view of the marina to sit at and eat.

Prior to coming to Homer, I found this place online and I immediately decided I had to make a visit when I arrived. And so I did!Note that this place is just a little takeout window so Carryout food only. The menu is decently sized and the guy who took my order was nice.I got the Fish sandwich with fries, and let me tell ya. I’ve had a ton of fish sandwiches, but this one has to be probably my second favorite one I’ve ever had so far!! The fish was SUPER crispy, seasoned incredibly well, and had great taste! Oh and their fries… Those were mouth-watering good… Seriously some of the best ones I got on this trip to Alaska.Overall, if you make it out to Homer, you HAVE to stop by this place if you’re in the market for a fish sandwich. Definitely one of the best ones I’ve had so far!

Fried halibut with fries and small coleslaw (3pc $25, 5pc $35): delicious and expertly cooked. This cash-only place doesn't offer much variety, but you come here for fried fish and it doesn't get much better than this.Eating on the spit means you're likely paying extra for the convenience of a touristy spot. That being said, the prices are reasonable. A 3 piece meal will satiate most appetites, and a 5 piece should take care of the hungriest in your group. The halibut is fresh and as others have said incredibly well fried. About 10min after our order, we got crispy, not-greasy halibut that was nicely seasoned. They give just the right amount of tartar sauce, which if I had to give a critique it could use with some more dill or flavorful pickles as it is a little bland. The fries: perfect, no notes. Service is friendly enough and speedy. One note bring your own drinks if you don't want to buy bottled water or coke.Vegetarian options: Not the best place for vegetarians, but they have onion rings, delicious fries, and some creative salads oddly enough.Parking: Free parking along the main road of the spit or in the nearby free parking lot is plentiful.Wheelchair accessibility: Yep it's wheelchair accessible, but it's just a little building with no indoor seating. You order from a window and then go find seating somewhere along the spit. There's a ramp leading to some nearby benches.

AK fish friers was fantastic. Had the combo halibut and cod. There are a couple of slightly less expensive places on the spit, but this place was well worth it. Might be the best food we had on our trip. Expect a wait time of at least 10 minutes as it's cooked fresh. They also offer to cook your fresh catch for you

Really good, amazing fish fry! Not greasy or overly deep fried. Cash only but goes with a lot of businesses around Alaska

I'm not a fan of frying perfectly good fish, but this place came recommended to my group by our charter. We took one of our fresh catches here and they fried it up, which is the only option. The batter for the halibut and cod tasted the same even though they looked different. One had some kind of herb, maybe parsley. The side of fries or onion rings is a generous portion, but the cole slaw is served in 2 oz plastic containers. We paid under $30 for them to fry about 3 lbs of fish, 2 orders of fries and 2 orders of cole slaw with a few drinks. Reasonably priced and the wait time was about 20 minutes. Give your food some time to cool off before you take your first bite.

Absolutely some of the best fish and chips we have had in all our travels. Nice flaky fish that wasn’t dripping with grease. Fries were awesome as well. Our little girl even ate the coleslaw. Will definitely eat here again.Pay no attention to the one star review because they were upset that they were closed for a couple days. It’s a mom and pop shop, nothing wrong at all with them taking some personal time if they want to! Guess some people are just too accustomed too the corporate chain operations and can’t appreciate the Alaska small operations way of life.

We brought our freshly caught cod to AK Fish Fryers today and they made us the best fish and chips we have EVER had! The breading was delicious and they cooked it perfectly. Also the best tarter sauce we've ever had too. AND the price was SO affordable, the best deal in town as we checked around. Highly recommend them!

Best fish and chips hands down. Must have been caught the same day. So fresh. Not your typical greasy deep fried halibut. Perfect crust. Hidden gem but if you can find it you must stop. I would have posted a picture but it was inhaled a bit quickly.

We were in Homer for two weeks visiting family and sightseeing. We had some delicious food while there but, after reading reviews, decided to hunt down AK Fish Fryers. It was so worth the search. Their halibut is out of this world--best in the town, I'm convinced. The food was handed to us just out of the fryer, piping hot and was so scrumptious, I just had to write this review. Heads up--it's take-out and cash only at Fish Fryers.

Awesome place! W brought Cod and Halibut and they fried it up for us for $10. Breading was crunchy and seasoned to perfection. The only down side was waiting 30 min, but the upside to that was everything was piping hot!?????

Absolutely amazing fish & chips...best we've had as far as halibut fish & chips goes for sure! Beautiful light (but slightly crunchy) breading...& not greasy!! Awesome salmon dip too. Don't miss this little place!!

Brought our catch of halibut right from the boat. We had it fried with fries and slaw. So fresh and delicious! Ate dockside, a most enjoyable experience!

Had to hit this spot on a recent trip to the Spit, and have to admit the halibut was some of the best fish & chips I've had anywhere. The Panko crust was nice and crispy, without being oily, and the fish still moist and tender. The crust on the halibut also had a bit of herbs in it which kicked it up a notch. I also tried the rockfish combo, which was still above average, but if I had to do again, I'd go all halibut. The fries were pretty good, but honestly nothing to fly up here to visit for. Tartar sauce was also solid, but felt it could have used more tang (pickles). It is a bit of a bummer they're cash only, but it was worth hitting the ATM to be able to try this place. I'd definitely go back, or have it on my list to hit anytime I'm on the Spit.
