Nice tiny town.
It’s one of the first buildings ever built in Hope. Today, it serves as a local bar where you can chat with the locals and, if you’re lucky, listen to some live music. I was lucky to listen to two women from Australia :)
The food is delicious — they serve local fish and, of course, burgers :). You can really feel the historic atmosphere with all the old photos on the walls. Everything here has a story to tell.
A must-see place in Hope!
We used the campground twice. Not full hookups or any frills, just electric on grass sites and can be muddy. Cafe and restaurant aren’t open during the week. Campground is right on the water and Hope Creek is overflowing with salmon. It’s a beautiful spot, idyllic but just don’t come here expecting a full service rv park. It’s very busy on the weekends. The Historic Hope Cafe, Seaview Bar & Campground is a magical place with comfortable glamping accommodations and a kind, considerate host. The restaurant and bar offer a cool, friendly, and serene atmosphere with immaculate vibes, making it a special corner of Alaska. The campground is located right on the water, and Hope Creek is overflowing with salmon, providing beautiful views and an idyllic setting. However, it is important to note that the campground has limited amenities, with only electric hookups on grass sites and can be muddy. There are a few porta potties and two outhouses available, but no full-service RV park facilities like showers or toilets. The cafe and restaurant are not open during the week, and the food truck operates only on weekends. Despite these limitations, the friendly staff and live bluegrass music create a wonderful atmosphere, especially on a summer evening. Guests can enjoy the famous strawberry rhubarb pie with a scoop of ice cream and a few beers, making for a magical night.
