Great tramway but expensive. The ride is impressive. There are some good trails up above that offer fantastic views of the area. The restaurant is decent. We enjoyed the native demonstration and video at the theater. Overall, it’s overpriced but worth it if you enjoy trams and unique views.

If you're cruising into Juneau, this is a great stop. We got up early and were up the mountain before 9am, a.k.a. before the throngs of people! We are not hikers, but we did head up the trail from the tram, at a leisurely pace, and stopped when we wanted a rest. We were rewarded with a couple of great platforms with bench seats and spectacular views! We visited on 6-17-2025. We bought our tickets in advance on our cruise ship so we could avoid lines to buy tickets - but that early in the day there were no lines for tickets or to get on the tram.

Amazing view from the summit.

This is well worth it! We had an amazing hike after reaching the top. You just take the tram up and you come back down when you want (same day of course). There is a restaurant at the top with indoor and outdoor seating.

If you have a spare hour or two, this is a fantastic way to get to the top of Mount Robert's, before this tramway was there we used to hike it which although was fun was a lot harder and longer.
Sometimes it can be busy so make sure you have enough time to get back if it is close to your ship's departure time.
Great gift shop and café at the top and a few short trails that you can do also. Take bug spray as Alaskan mosquitoes are no joke........clean restrooms and respectful staff.

Great views. Climb 1800 feet. Small wait to get on the tram at both sides. Enjoyed the totem 1/4 mile loop.

The scenic view from the top of the mountain is gorgeous. The tram itself is similar to many different ones around the world. The fare is on the slightly expensive side.

A really quick but great ascent up the mountain that gives a wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful scenery. It only gets better at the top. The beer is also great which is an added bonus. I would also thoroughly recommend the film show in the theatre.

If you don’t have any better plans for the staying in Juneau Alaska, you can take care Mount Roberts dream way and go to the top of the mountains where you will see amazing view for the whole Juno Bay. From the top of the mountain over the cruise ships there looks like a small boxes. And of course, if you catch the good weather, you will enjoy for sure. And in case, if you like to challenge yourself, I will suggest you to take a walk back to using one of the walking trail, which will take you back to the city. Damn you’ll have a great scenery and exercising in the same time.

Gorgeous view on a nice sunny day.

$60 is outrageous for a three-minute elevator ride. Nothing to do up there until the snow melts in June.

The ride is comfortable and the operator is informative. The free movie about local culture includes a speaker who demonstrates traditions.

Taking the tram to the top of Mount Roberts was very easy for us on our last cruise as we literally docked next to the tramway lower terminal. A short ride to the top gave us great views as we were climbing and coming back down, of the harbor and the cruise ships at dock. AT the top, we visited the eagle sanctuary and got pretty close to one of the resident eagles. We also visited the native heritage exhibits at the top. We also had great views along and across the inlet at the scenery.

The Mount Roberts Tramway was a fantastic experience, offering breathtaking views of the entire inlet from the top. There's a charming souvenir shop at the summit, and a bar-restaurant at the base. You'll also find a small museum and a cinema showcasing a short historical film about the interactions between the local Indigenous peoples, Russians, and Americans. A great way to spend an hour or so.
