Great tramway but expensive. The ride is impressive. There are some good trails up above that offer fantastic views of the area. The restaurant is decent. We enjoyed the native demonstration and video at the theater. Overall, it’s overpriced but worth it if you enjoy trams and unique views.
If you're cruising into Juneau, this is a great stop. We got up early and were up the mountain before 9am, a.k.a. before the throngs of people! We are not hikers, but we did head up the trail from the tram, at a leisurely pace, and stopped when we wanted a rest. We were rewarded with a couple of great platforms with bench seats and spectacular views! We visited on 6-17-2025. We bought our tickets in advance on our cruise ship so we could avoid lines to buy tickets -...
This is well worth it! We had an amazing hike after reaching the top. You just take the tram up and you come back down when you want (same day of course). There is a restaurant at the top with indoor and outdoor seating.
