The best salmon dip I've ever had, certain time of year you can pick your own Dungeness crab and they'll cook for you in the restaurant next door, love this place.

This place caught my eye as we passed the first time, TAKU - sounds authentic hahahah! After our stop at Mendenhall Glacier, we asked Doug (Great taxi driver -Juneau Taxi and Tours Doug Pegues (907) 723-6219) if he can drop off my partner and I at Taku and take the rest of our party back to the ship. Know that it was on the way and only a 5 min walk back, so he was more than accommodating. I was a bit hesitant on purchasing some items here just because I knew how much heavier it would make our luggage. Top notch service They actually work with USPS and ship worldwide; they charge the normal box rate and don't make you pay extra for them to wrap everything for you. They even ask what day would you like them to ship the items so you get them as soon as you arrive back home! Got 3 cans, 3 jars, smoked salmon jerky and jam with the USPS shipping a tax our total was a $105. Sydney was a doll, so far I've made smoked octopus salad (Mediterranean and Asian style) the salmon jerky was too salty for me, haven't opened the salmon jar or cans yet but I know I will soon!

My goodness this place is full of people ,so full some items are out. You'd think they'd have a problem seating and serving. Nope! It was busy but smooth sailing. I'm not posting my delicious food selection here. The restaurant was rustic looking matching Alaska. You know you can order and they ship? So I heard. I've got my order ready. Didn't know there were two kinds of lobster King and dungeon (?) Clam chowder soup looked good but finished by the time we were seated.

Nice place. If you are getting off of a cruise ship, this place will take your order for King Crab and other fresh, frozen seafood to be shipped to your home. Plenty of gift style foods and canned or otherwise nonperishable fancy snacks to take back with you.

It was so cool inside. You can watch the employees cutting halibut. Lots of souvenirs to buy and they are at a decent price. Clean environment. Very friendly and helpful staff

Great place for smoked salmon and great souvenirs. I purchased some gorgeous earrings for a friend. I regret not buying some for myself.
