today I went to go eat at the timberline restaurant at the Gold Belt Tram. I ordered the halibut fish plate for $35 When my meal it was salmon. When I told the waitress it was the wrong order, she told me I had to go talk to the bartender and his name was Rocky. When I went up to look, it was a different bartender and rocky was gone so rather than taking time to explain everything to the new bartender, I decided to eat the salmon. It was very disappointed. That was I was not giving the correct order.
Just simple one beer and one plate
It's hard to confuse

The Timberline Bar and Grill is located on Mount Roberts in Juneau. One rides the Goldbelt Tram up to the restaurant. They offer American food, and a full bar, as well as Seafood and are Vegetarian and kid-friendly. The views are of the Gastineau Channel in front and mountain waterfalls in back, from the outside patio. There is a lovely gift shop and clean restrooms.
This is a seasonal restaurant, closing at the end of October and reopening in April. Hours are subject to change due to weather conditions, but in the summer, they are usually open from 8-9. During the season, the restaurant offers live music and is available for private events.
One orders from the printed menu at the counter and pays before eating. Table service sets and condiments re self-serve. The food is then brought to your table.
We enjoyed our chili bread bowls. Both the chili and the bread-bowl were tasty; the chili was hot but not too spicy, and the bread-bowl was fresh. We felt that the portion size was a bit small.
I would recommend this place. The tram ride up was fun, and the restaurant was charming. It is accessible from the tram or one may hike up and ride down. Season Passes are available.
The tram base location is at the main cruise dock on Franklin St., and tickets may be purchased there.

Great food and service. Definitely recommend the chicken teriyaki sandwich and the fish and chips and if you get the nachos, bring a football team to finish them. They’re no joke!

Long wait for crab nachos that were cold. Half the cheese was never melted and there’s had melted and completely cooled by the time it was brought to the table. Would not eat there again.

Price of Classic hamburger went from $13 a year ago to $21.75 as of July 2024. Similar price increases for all menu items. Burger is handmade and served with a cup of fries.

Beautiful views and overspriced food. It's not clear where you can order food from, though. There is no line, and the lady at the bar takes orders for whoever she thinks is next.

1st time with the wife. Beautiful scenery. Sitting here absolutely disgusted with the so called Crab Nacho dish. Save yourself. 30 some dollars for 10lbs of chips and a teaspoon of crab and tomatos.

Average food that's overpriced towards busy & captive cruise ship tourists.
Alaskan Halibut Fish was dry, & Chips were tater tots.
While the Wings were good, the advertised "Six chicken wings" were not supplied; only five in basket. Didn't notice until after paid.
At least the Heineken beer was not a local brew, and snowcapped view couldn't be faulted.

Our stop at Juneau,Alaska was really amazing but finally will breathe taking we on the Goldbelt Tram to see a more spectacular view of Juneau and looking the beauty of Juneau. There's a restaurant called Timberline Bar & Grill on the top on monut. After looking the incredible view we were getting little bit hungry and the restaurant is just right there the restaurant looks very nice with Alaskan native art and totem including black bear and mountain goat hives on the wall very impressive. We were looking at the menu we were not that hungry we need a snack then we decided to get nachos Alaskan style. We got the half of nachos they give us a number and waited we noticed there's a bar cool. Then they brought our nachos it was big we took a bite we notice a crunch in ever chip. The nachos have sour cream, black beans, guacamole and other items. They were so good so much flavors in the nachos we don't know what hell these Alaskan did to the nachos. The chips were crispy and crunch didn't fall apart to the end.,

Being a resident of Juneau, we found a gem at the top of the Mountain Roberts Tram that we have often overlooked. Great food and a spectacular view of the Gastineau Channel, Juneau and Douglas Island.

Well, it's a cool place to grab a meal or drink because of the stunning views. But it's no atmosphere other than that. Obviously, it's a place for tourists.

We ordered crab nachos and beer. The nachos were great! Beer wasn’t bad either. The servers were very nice and helpful. Place was nice and clean! View looking down was foggy.
