Please do not waste your time on Halibut fish and chips. Not sure what they were using but not Halibut. Not cod either. Fries/fish tasted like it was time to change the oil. Cannot recommend

We tried Red Herring today when we had a stop from our cruise. We tried the crab roll (delicious), reindeer sausage (amazing) and the blueberry ice tea (more please!). Everything was spectacular, truly. The quality and freshness of the food is obvious and the flavors are *chef’s kiss*. The people running the truck are very kind too. Thanks guys! Wish I could find them back home!

This has been a go-to spot every time I’m in Sitka. The food is always great; I got a crab roll and their wild blueberry yerba mate, both of which I recommend. The Red Herring has great food and great vibes. I’ll definitely be back.
The roll crab was okay, I would only get it again if it was a lot cheaper. I understand that seafood is expensive so I understand the price, however it was pretty small, the roll was not toasted or butter or even warm, and overall it was just mid. Not bad by any means but not a buy again for me.

I recently coordinated catering for a board meeting in Sitka with approximately 25 attendees. Red Herring was easy to work with leading up to the meeting and suggested a menu that was a huge hit (breakfast burrito bar, smoked salmon bagel, butter chicken curry, snow crab roll, and more!). I have some folks who are typically hard to please, but they wholeheartedly complimented the food. One of my attendees said this was the best catering he's had in his 20+ years of attending these meetings. The purple chocolate chip cookies were a hit! Everyone thought they were so fun and delicious! The locally sourced food was fresh and presented beautifully. Thank you Red Herring! I highly recommend them for catering in Sitka!

We were part of the cruise ship crowed. Got sticker shock everywhere we went. Food was good but there is a tourist premium. This was the most reasonable food option. It was a pleasant surprise. The tea was excellent. Nothing bad to say other than being there during tourist season.

Specifically got off our cruise ship to enjoy a crab roll at Red Herring, given the wonderful reviews. Took an earlier shuttle bus to town and walked around the galleries until 11 o’clock, had a great snow crab sandwich and enjoyed the visit to Sitka. Weather was a little cold and rainy, nice to have sheltered canopy while eating. On the way out, back on the bus, nice to see a decent line firming at this food truck. Staff was kind and friendly, set up and opened for business on time, and made a delicious crab roll. Will be back on my next trip.
