1898 Burgers N Shakes Reviews
Ignore the crowds everywhere else. Best burger I've had in ages. Tried to share one with my wife and she almost bit my hand.
The crew are awesome here. The seasoned fries are excellent. Had the OG burger and the Mrs. Had the OG with green chilies, every one enjoyed their meal. Root beer float was the best on the warm day we had at Skagway. A myst vusit for lunch
Delicious smash burgers and battered fries. When we were there during the day on a Wednesday, there was one guy doing it all and he seemed happy staying busy with all the customers. Drinks are cold cans of soda (no ice) and wearing is somewhat limited. But the burgers were delicious!

Tucked away off Broadway on 5th Avenue, 1898 Burgers N Shakes is a hidden gem with minimal signage, but the crew are awesome and the food is exceptional. The seasoned fries are excellent, and the OG burger—or the OG with green chilies—left every guest enjoying their meal. The Skagway smash burger was messy but worth it, and a root beer float was the best on a warm day. Delicious smash burgers and battered fries come with cold cans of soda (no ice), and seating is somewhat limited, but the burgers were delicious. The menu is small, allowing them to focus on what they do best, and service is helpful and friendly. One visitor noted a lone crew member doing it all on a Wednesday, seeming happy staying busy. The fries were killer, with almost pepper flakes on them, and the spruce tip shake is a must-try. Even in winter, when places tend to close, this spot shines—one guest wrote with sadness over their last bite, saying, "Don't be sad because it's over, be happy that it happened." A must visit for lunch in Skagway.
