The food was delicious!! We started with seafood chowder and broccoli cheese soups which was very tasty and was great for a rainy day.We also had the muscles in wine sauce which was also very tasty. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu...she was very fun!The décor was homey and inviting. They had a bookshelf on the wall which had a hidden door to enter the restroom, fun!

This was not a pleasant experience. We arrived at the hotel from the 5 PM train only to find that the shuttle would not be running to get us back to the hotel if we ate dinner in town (a 1.7 mile hike to the hotel) We opted to eat at the hotel thinking there were multiple dining options. There was not. Base Camp Bistro was the sole option and we were all in the same boat. The dining room was full as was the bar. There was over an hour wait just to be seated. We waited and were finally seated 1 1/2 hrs later. When we failed to order cocktails our server just left us sitting. When he finally took our order, the food was tasty and arrived relatively quickly. It appeared that there was sufficient staff to quickly turn tables, just not enough tables to serve the guests wanting to be fed. I understand it is the end of the season but this was very poor planning given that the train arrives at 5 pm and those guests are left with few options.

All the food we had here was delicious. The servers all did a good job. Prices were pretty steep, but that's a hotel restaurant for ya. It's the more casual of the restaurants here, so we weren't even gonna try the other one! It was convenient, but not great value. Figure you pay that much, you should at least have some leftovers, but that wasn't the case. Do NOT order the Cucumber Jalapeno Chicken Salad! A lot of money for tons of greens!!!

Best waiter but one of the worst lunches I've ever had. $25 burger arrived well done, dry and COLD. Cheese was even not melted by the time it got to my table. There was only a few people in the restaurant so not busy.

Great views overlooking the mountains here (except it was cloudy on the day we went) Very friendly server. Food was mostly delicious. My only note would be the sauce on the salmon may be a bit overpowering. Thai curry halibut was great with actual spice levels in there.

Great dinner with a great view! We were a party of five and we’re seated promptly. The caribou meatloaf and Buddha bowl were excellent! The service was fantastic and the desserts were out of this world!

Enjoyed dinner at hotel restaurant with wonderful view of the mountains. Server was very attentive and friendly. French Dip, Crab and Artichoke Dip and Chocolate Mousse were delicious and plentiful. Would definitely return!

Delicious dishes here! My favorites are the fresh halibut, scallops, meatloaf, burger, tots, korean fried cauliflower, and the crème brûlée! The bar makes great beverages, like the forget me not. There’re evenings with entertainment, and special themes like sushi and asian night. Fresh oysters! The bistro can be very busy, and when it is there can be a wait, but it’s worth it. Enjoy the views!Kid-friendliness: There’s a kid menu for 11 y.o. and under.

Great food and excellent service with the best view! Had the caribou meat loaf that was excellent. Thank you to our server Steeve for a great evening!

Atmosphere was wonderful but our server was awful! There was no sense of urgency and we waited 1 hour after ordering drinks to place our dinner order. We watched many tables come in after us and get served and cleared before we received our food. I was very disappointed with the lack of concern for our time. We were ignored and after multiple attempts to get water we did not receive refills. 2 hours later we received our 2 hamburgers and 2 grilled salmon melts. Just beware dinner could take you hours. Not thrilled and would not recommend. There was no manager available to help us while we visited, not impressed. We ended up getting to go boxes.

We were seated on the deck with spectacular views of Mt. Denali. The food was delicious and hot. The waiter was a little overwhelmed but was doing a good job handling the load. We were there at a busy time. The kitchen ran out of the spinach artichoke dip, which was a disappointment. They had a good selection of Alaskan brews on tap.

Great breakfast and also had dinner another evening. Great food, service! Waiter/Waitress we had was friendly, answered questions we had about the area. Very enjoyable experience.

Food was good, but pricey for Alaska. Server was local and very friendly, providing great context to the town and lifestyle. They charge a “remote fee” which just felt like price gouging. You are kind of captured to their restaurant by location.

This restaurant has lovely ambiance including a wall of windows which has an unobstructed view of Denali. There is a very nice large deck with tables so the patrons can dine inside or out. The menu is somewhat limited, but a nice selection is still available. The prices are steep based on “lower48” prices, but this is Alaska after all, overlooking Denali, so what does one expect? The food was good, served hot, and appeared freshly cooked. Service was professional and efficient. So, why the three stars instead of five? The Bistro tacked on a “Remote Fee” of 3.5%. As far as I can tell this is an undisclosed fee to which I strongly object. When I questioned the server, he sort of shrugged his shoulder and said “resort fee.” I got the party line of this is a great location in a remote area, so we can charge whatever we want. Sorry, but the menu selections are fully priced, and an additional undisclosed fee is unwarranted and unwelcome. I will not return to this restaurant.

We just ate here today and had the Fish and Chips. The Rock fish was cooked perfectly and the service was super fast. Granted we were here at 5:00pm. They provided us a table by the window with an amazing view of Denali. Our server, Jordi, was excellent. She was very personable and constantly checked back with us for our needs. We had the Birch Tree Crème Brûlée and it was delicious.
