Food was wonderful! Great view and Stefan was a very attentive server.
Very small portions. All of our steaks were overcooked. Service was slow. The prices were ridiculous. Will not be back.
Lovely dinner here with surprisingly quality dishes at this price point. Highly recommend.
I wasn't in a hurry so I did enjoyed the time there.
My dish was super delicious, love Mushrooms so my first time eating King Oyster Mushrooms was super delicious 😋
Crab bisque was also delicious 😋
Soup arrived cold, but they were prompt to heat it and return to our table. Only two tables occupied so would have expected more attention from server but overall a very enjoyable meal in a wonderful setting.
Torrie, the manager, was reasonable and understanding. This did not excuse the fact that the wait for our food was over an hour. During which time no one checked on our table to refill drinks or bring us bread. I had to go find the wait staff to ask for the manager to find our dinner. The waiter spoke poorly of the kitchen staff openly to us. By the end of our meal it was obvious that this wasn't just because the kitchen was busy as we were lead to believe by our waiter. The dining area wasn't even full. The food was good but not worth the price and horrible service.

Food was good… overpriced and confusing when looking at the menu. Waited an hour for our meal. Had to asked the waiter and the manager what was going on with our food apparently lots of mistakes where made. We got offered a dessert as a compensation and also took another hour to get to the table… service was terrible never refilled our water or wine. Got to the restaurant at 7PM and left at 9:30PM for a one course meal.

We came here thinking it was a fine dining establishment, but our experience was not that. The service was greatly lacking. We did not receive any drink refills and our food took almost an hour despite the restaurant being fairly empty. The food was fine, but not fine dining quality.

Unfortunately we only had one night at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge during our Alaska vacation, but we made the most of it by having dinner at Foraker Restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine list extensive. All our dishes, from appetizers to desert were top notch, clearly prepared by a team of skilled chefs. Highly recommended!
Please revise your acorn squash curry. It had pickled onions in it which was very odd. That is reason for the 3 stars on the food. The scallops were delicious. My husband's meal was wonderful. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The view is breathtaking. We were also served coffee by the host of Foraker the next morning. His second job is at the coffee shop in town. The staff are very hard workers and appreciate the opportunity to have jobs for the summer.

We were seated just as another table of four was seated. Same waiter. We ordered soup to start as did the other table. It cam out barely warm. Seafood Chowder needs to be hot. The other tabe sent theirs back. We decided to tough it out and it got tougher as it cooled off more. My complaint is I told the waiter that ours was the same and he didn't offer to take our bowls as well. That was wrong. I think they just nuked the other tables bowls which is almost ok but they should have comped us our soup. The rest of the meal was hot and good. Not sure what the standard procedure is for this but he should have asked. I have to blame it on a new hire and was unsure what the protocol was.
Dinner was excellent. The reason they didn't get a 5 rating is that my rice in the curry was undercooked. We had the scallops crudo and beet salad for appetizers, which we would highly recommend. I had a combination of Halibut with the squash curry dinner, which was absolutely delicious.
Views were great even on a cloudy day. A couple of observations, it was almost a 40-minute wait to get our dinner after appetizers. Also, the dining chairs ready need an upgrade.

The highlight of the meal was the personable young man who filled our water glasses when we arrived. Otherwise, the entire service experience (other than regular water glass refills) was poor, particularly given the price level of the restaurant. The appetizer was a scallop crudo which was not appealing. When my wife's crab risotto finally arrived, the cold crab was placed on top of risotto that had a texture that was crunchy rather than creamy. The kitchen solution was apparently to microwave the crab with the cold risotto not addressed. Similarly, my thick-cut pork chop was burned and not tender. I realize that this is a resort restaurant but our expectations were higher for a meal that cost around $250 with beverages. Maybe they need to do some retraining of their staff. Sorry to not have more positive things to say.
The food and service were both good. The bread rolls were delicious, and the dressing on the Caesar salad was very tasty. I had read a few negative reviews, so we were pleasantly surprised.
The low reviews almost scared us away but we had a wonderful experience. I had the black cod and my wife the salmon. Both were outstanding. They were out of our first choice wine but had many others to choose from at reasonable pricing. Service was great. Highly recommend based on our experience.
