JR’s Sportsbar and Grill

Went today after a concert in Alex City, kitchen closes at 830 is what girl up front stated.... but says they open till 9. Wasted a trip to that side of town and they missed out on alot of money.

The prices are too high for customers to be getting cold hard fries. I ordered a mild wing basket January 7, 2026 online to be delivered to my job at 12, the order arrived a little before time, but there’s NO way my fries should be like this if they’re SUPPOSEDLY hot and fresh. I’m very upset because I love my fries.

Went in with my granddaughters and great granddaughters...there was only three other costumers there. Took forever to get waited on finally got our orders in. Took close to forty-five minutes for food to come and when it did everything was cold...wings,fries,fried pickles,chicken livers, baked potato,chicken tenders......actually everything. No gravey nor sauces. Had to flag someone down for a refill and they had no comment on why food was cold smh. People in the kitchen were talking and laughing and thats ok when you're not preparing food smh others where playing on their phones. Used to love the food and atmosphere but it will be a long time before we go back if we do. Its not worth paying close to seventy bucks for cold food and bad service.

I don’t usually complain, but this was the last straw. The past couple of weeks, every time I’ve ordered delivery from JR’s, something has been missing. Tonight, it was a simple $2 side of fries. When I called, instead of owning the mistake, I was basically told I was lying. They claimed four boxes were packed and delivered — but I only received three. Both the driver and the staff stuck to this story, which is completely untrue.

What makes it worse is that last week they left out my mild sauce. I even added a note about it this time, and the driver mentioned it when handing me the bag — so they clearly read it. Yet not only did I not get the sauce from last week, they left out the fries and then accused me of making it up.

I’ve been a loyal customer for well over 20 years, but after being called a liar over a missing $2 item, JR’s has officially lost my business. Service has gone downhill, not only at this location but also at other food establishments in this town like Bucks for example and people deserve to know — don’t expect to always get what you paid for.

I would not recommend going here to anyone we waited over an hour for our food when we got it my baked potato felt like it came out of the refrigerator the place sucks

Food was barely better than concession stands. The burgers are just frozen patties that were thrown in the grill. It was a large party of us and every single meal was cold. Wings and fries were unseasoned. The milkshakes were ice, heavy cream and choc syrup. The water was fresh out the bathroom sink.

Jr's holds one of the tops 10 spots in Alex City to eat, drink a few, watch some games during the season of the tide giving away some good ole home state whippings. Meet up with your brothers and sisters you've met through life or maybe even a first time meet for young or old love birds.. either way jr's is such a wonderful place to go to.. the waitresses are all easy on the eyes and full of some good ole southern hospitality.. y'all come on out and check it out for yourselves.. I assure you that you will not be disappointed!!
