My boyfriend and I went here for our first year anniversary. I guess we are what you would consider lower middle class. But my boyfriend had saved up to take us here, and leave a nice tip for the waiter. Very very pretentious and judgmental atmosphere and service. Which is all well and good if that’s the kind of vibe they want to give off, but I think it’s only fair for others to know what they’re walking in to. So if you’re under 30 and/or “poor” I suggest going somewhere where you won’t be discriminated against because of your class. Kinda ridiculous. Food was good, though, lol

Delicious, as always. The cafe side is one of my favorite places to have a business lunch. If you haven't been, go. If you have been, go again. :)

Bottega in Birmingham, AL, is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel fancy without needing a tuxedo or a trust fund. Walking in, you’re greeted by an elegant, timeless space — white tablecloths, soft lighting, and that faint aroma of something deliciously Italian roasting in the oven. The Café side is more relaxed, perfect if you’re in the mood for wood-fired pizza and a lively vibe, while the Dining Room feels like a culinary theater where every dish is the star.

Finally had a chance to try this restaurant out since reading about it I a magazine. Waitress and food were exceptional. Had a special request at end of meal for the soup of the day to go, I wanted it strained for any solids due to friend having major surgery in the am and is on a liquid diet. Waited came back and said the manager and chef said no because they wanted their presentation not to be compromised. Mind you this is a to go order. Here is my problem, on the menu it states please notify your server if you have any dietary restrictions to let them know. I was taken back with their answer.

I’ve been dining here with my family for decades. The 2:00pm lunch I experienced for my Dads 70th birthday on Thursday will be the final time anyone in my family dines at Bottega. Frank has left the building. Or he’s content with maximizing profits and diminishing the dining experience. Bring back the original portion of beef carpaccio and go back to the toast points. 4 tiny bites of hanger steak shouldn’t cost $32. Light a fire under your ass, Frank. Fix Bottega first and foremost, and open up Highlands for the people of Birmingham.

I got the Bolognese pasta and An appetizer of baked feta and bread the pasta tasted like cheeseburger, hamburger helper I don’t know about you, but in the case of me spending $27 for a tiny bowl of hamburger helper is pathetic. I could go home and go to the convenience store make me a box of it with some brown ground beef and have more than five times the proportions and I got. Also The baked feta was all right, but the bread was burnt and food was so hot it scorched my mouth I got a dessert and sort of like chocolate pudding with caramel spreading and whipped cream with a cookie and some chocolate bits in it Tasted All right, but the cookie was hard as a Rock costed me $90.43 all and all I give this rating a 2.5 out of 10 the service was good. Our server drew was a good server gave him a $12 tip I don’t know what is so good about this restaurant. It was very underwhelming. I’m not sure if it was just the dish I got or what

I enjoy the cajun options, and i especially love the Armadillo eggs. Great spot for lunch.

Elegant surroundings with more than a bit too much arrogance and pretense.

Not exactly a Michelin Star candidate though the waitstaff seemingly would disagree. Whether they truly have a clue or not is debatable.

We love fine food. And, there were dishes that approached the level at our visit, although not all.

On a positive, the wine list is impressive and complementary to the menu.

It all tast like its from a can
Like the stuff we ate as a child. Service had a attitude and was never around. Atmosphere was like out of an old 1960 Tuscany porn..... better food from gas station.

The food was excellent and the service very good. But the ambiance was extremely poor. The sound level emanating from several noisy guests was unbearable. The decibel level was above 80db.

Very good food and very good atmosphere. The servers are one of the best I have experienced in America for this price point. The “cafe” option is a great bang for your buck.

The fish was awesome but the tiramisu was just ok. The sponge cake was 10/10, perfectly soaked but the cream was too light, I wish it had been more dense because the sponge was too good.

Went here for the first time tonight for my anniversary dinner. 100% will be back! Walked in and was immediately treated like family. The food was exceptional, the staff was exceptional. Everything about this place was fantastic. It’s a must visit place in Birmingham!
