I was fortunate to be able to experience Dread River's restaurant week menu this year. Out of all of the 3-course dinner menus available this year Dread River hit the ball out of the park with their menu variety and overall execution. They were by far the best bang for the buck option out of all of restaurant week. But I am disappointed to find that their regular menu, being mainly elevated bar food, does not compare / hold a candle to what was offered during restaurant week. I suppose I may just have to wait until restaurant week next year to be able to have such an amazing meal for such an incredible price again.

So grateful to Dread River for allowing us to shoot our film there this past weekend. Not only was this space ideal for what we needed to tell a compelling story, but Mashala was also a gem and rocked it out with us all day and made us feel right at home. DMD2W Productions appreciates you!

I’ve visited this establishment on two separate occasions recently, and both times I was told the kitchen was closed despite arriving well before the posted closing time. I completely understand and respect that the kitchen may close an hour before the bar; as a business owner myself, I respect policies and structure. However, being turned away nearly two hours before closing raises serious concerns about consistency and professionalism.

What’s most disappointing is that I brought guests with me respected professionals including attorneys and elected officials hoping to enjoy a night of cocktails and light food in what I believed was a reliable environment. Instead, we were told the kitchen had closed early due to a party earlier in the day. This isn’t just poor planning; it’s an unacceptable standard for a business that promotes itself as a professional, welcoming venue.

This has now happened twice in two weeks, and frankly, I regret giving it a second chance. The first experience I had here was enjoyable, which is what made me want to return. Unfortunately, these recent visits have made it clear that the establishment does not consistently meet its own standards. I would not recommend this place to others and won’t be returning.

My husband and I had an amazing experience here. The bartender really knew his stuff and was so friendly. But the food was incredible! Fresh and quality food and drinks and service. Highly recommend!

I recently called Dread River Distillery to inquire about a private event. While my requested date wasn’t available, I still asked for a quote so I could consider booking with them in the future. I didn’t have another date in mind, so I let them know I’d follow up later.

Unfortunately, the call wasn’t properly disconnected and I unintentionally overheard two staff members speaking about me and other clients/potential clients in a way that was deeply unprofessional and disrespectful. The tone and shared attitude that made it clear this may be how potential customers are routinely talked about behind the scenes.

As someone who was seriously considering doing business with this venue, I found the experience disturbing and disappointing. If this is how clients are spoken about internally, I can’t imagine trusting them with something as important as a private event.

So I knew of the distillery, what I didn't know was they are also a cool bar and restaurant until I was on a lunch time walk and stumbled upon it. The next day while biking, we stopped in. The IPA they brew is excellent..I recommend the Beer and a shot. Your choice of their crafted beers, and the bartended creates the shot. We had the hummus and truffle fries which were both excellent companions to the drinks. The atmosphere is awesome and we will be back, better dressed than our biking clothes.

This is not a typical distillery! So much more. The atmosphere, the spirits and most importantly, the employees! Our tour guide Suzanne was so knowledgeable and interesting and fun! The tasting too is amazing. And before the tour we had drinks and Jaeden our server was delightful!!! We will definitely go back soon.

This was the most great experience we could have had in Birmingham Al. Our serve, Jaeden, was extremely special. Look for Keese for any questions you have about the distillery and their amazing drinks. And you have to order a MVP and the truffle fries!

The one in Birmingham Alabama wasn't that great. We were lost the first 15 minutes we were there. The waitress Hunter must was new because she wasn't friendly at all. The service was as awkward as the interaction between the waitress and my guests. I made reservations. When I walked in they told my fiance and I we can sit anywhere. They didn't ask how are you, do you have reservations, are you guests of some one else. Not everyone has been to this establishment, because it was my first time. It was just a no for me.

We had an amazing tour, our tour guide Bruce was very knowledgeable. He gave more in depth and technical details than just the basic process. We loved the cocktails and that you can carry one with you on the tour!
