I want to like this place because we have eaten at this location, under several different names, for decades. The service and new decor is great, but the food is my least favorite of all the Mexican restaurants in this area. I have visited 3 times since it reopened as El Patron and tried 3 different dishes and didn't care for any of them.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant on HWY 280! We were driving to the Moody location in a near weekly basis before they opened the 280 location. Excellent food, excellent house margaritas, wonderful service, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend to everyone!!!

GREAT find! It's a much bigger space than how it looks on the outside. Took a small while to be seated and served at first but once our waiter came and got in his groove he was great! We saw that he was seating and serving other tables so he definitely deserved the grace. Chips and salsa were good. My friend and I came in for National Margarita Day. They had a GREAT special ($1.99 for small margs +$1 for flavors) and we definitely took advantage. By the 4th one we couldn't even finish it and didn't feel bad at all. The watermelon marg was definitely my favorite though. Our food and drinks both came out very quickly. I got the chicken chimichanga which tasted SO fresh. The portion size looked small but surprisingly one and some of the rice filled me up (maybe it was also the liquor lol). Even the rice was better than what I usually get from other restaurants. Overall I will definitely be back. I spent $22 on a meal and FOUR drinks.

So happy I gave this place a try because it is now my favorite mexican spot on 280. As soon as you walk in they have the specials listed and the staff was very friendly. Salsa, queso, margaritas, and entrees were fantastic. Will definitely be back!

For a "typical tex-mex" place, I am VERY impressed! First I ordered 2 cantaritos, which were quite strong and delicious. For dinner, I ordered the fajita baked potato and the portion size was IMPRESSIVE. Everything was delicious! Will be back!

Our family loves eating here! The food and atmosphere are great! However sometimes service could be alot better, but I have to give 5 stars to the older gentleman that brings the chips and salsa normally when we visit he is always great! Also a 5 star goes to the gentleman cashier, when service falls by the wayside as it sometimes does, he steps up, checks on the tables !

Food was spot on. Mexican Pizza is a new item and very good. Chips and Salsa always excellent. Can't beat the margaritas. Always a pleasure going to the Patron.

I really like their chorizo ! Service could be better. Sometimes I order takeout and they say 10-15 mins and when I get there it isn't ready... on one occasion I did wait like an extra 20-25 mins. If I hadn't already paid, I would've left. However ! The food is amazing. I've never dined-in so idk about that

Decided to try a new Mexican restaurant with some buddies from college. Unfortunately my dinning experience was absolutely horrible. On top of the horrible customer service my friend had knats in her drink and i had hair in my food. The waiter took the napkin with the hair on it and never came back to discuss the issue.No refund or a new plate. Just terrible.
