This restaurant shares great memories of birthdays and anniversaries. I hope Grille 29 comes back and be as vibrant and more since other restaurants are closed. With great parking and outdoor dining these features will be great assets to Birmingham entertainment.

A friend and I enjoyed a wonderful pre-Pandemic dining experience at Grille 29. The food was exceptional, and the service was totally on point :-) We started our meal with the hot crab dip appetizer. This dish is beautifully presented and served over crostini; it was without question the best version of this dish I've had in years! For our entrees we shared the ahi tuna and a filet mignon; both dishes were cooked perfectly, and the steak was so tender it almost melted in our mouths. Our sides were asparagus and a hassleback potato; I've never had one of the latter before, but now that I have I highly recommended it; both sides were an excellent counterpoint to our mains, and the entire meal was executed flawlessly. There's nothing like a good steakhouse dinner, and they do it right at Grille 29 - I look forward to returning for another sit-down dining experience soon :-)

The food was amazing!! Scallop and bacon relish appetizer, bacon wrapped filet and crab cakes to die for! We had a snafu with the kitchen/service time but the management was super friendly and made everything 100! Will definitely return for the food!

Went on a weeknight after 7. There was no crowd and the service was excellent. Ordered the Ribeye with Asparagus and Sweet potato hash. Food was on point!!

Me and hubs ventured here for date night! We were looking for hearty comfort food and ya'll that's what we got! The inside is low lighting romantic vibes, big fish tank at the bar, traditional interior. Bar side and dining side. Hot crab dip for app - very creamy and cheesy so eat while it's hot! Comes with little toasted breads. I ordered the boneless beef short ribs and ya'll! They were cooked to perfection! Flavorful, not too chewy, little pearl onions and saucy! Side of mashed potatoes and green beans - perfect additions to the meat! Bubs ordered crab cakes with a side of asparagus and wild rice. Very nice sized cakes and good flavor! Sides were also complimentary! Overall solid meal, satisfied the craving and we will be back!

Upon walking in I was greeted by the door hostess and she was very cordial. Trina or Tina was my bartender and server. She was also great, very helpful, informative, and attentive. She made my mimosa just right also. I had the shrimp and grits and although it was good, the corn threw me off lol. I got the fish and chips togo for someone else but I tried it. It was delicious!

This was my second visit to Grill 29. I got there on a Sunday morning at 10:05 am and with them opening at 10 am, it was quite a few people there. It appears they may take reservations too but not sure. So I would recommend getting there early. Also for brunch within the first hour of the restaurant opening, they have $0.29 mimosas. You can't beat that anywhere! And even after the hour passes, they only go up to $3 so that would be another reason to get there early. All in all, the food was pretty good. We had the shrimp and grits which is always amazing. I just wish they served a larger portion. I also had the lobster and shrimp frittata with a side of potatoes and I added a side of fruit. It was just ok. It definitely needed salt and pepper and I don't recall tasting any lobster. I will definitely come back to visit, but probably won't get the lobster and shrimp frittata again. All in all, our server was great and the food came out hot and fast. The restaurant was very clean as well. I enjoyed my visit to Grill 29. I'll just get something different next time.

The place is huge. They have mimosas for .29 cents before 11am. The fire cracker shrimp are delicious!!! The grouper with crab and grits was salty. The grits were hard as a rock. There were three tiny pieces of blue crab atop the grouper. My orange juice or mimosa as they call it wAs 3.00. This is not but less than twenty mins prior it .29 cents! That's my fault for arriving at 11:17 but dang! My friend ordered some long island ice teas but they tasted like lemon drops. She felt tipsy so she was happy! The high light for me was the lemon lava cake!!! Yes to the almighty. That lemon cake us so delicious! I should have just ordered the fire cracker shrimp a side salad and the lemon cake! Overall it was ok! The ambience is great for a date! The music was R and B and very nice old school music! I plan to go back! This time my bill won't be over $100.00.
Had a wonderful time at this Grille 29 location. The staff (hostess, manager, service) were awesome during my visit. The restaurant is clean, well lite and spacious. The food quality is amazing. I had the Classic Cub with french fries as a lunch meal. The sandwich was well prepared, seasoned fixed to perfection. I recommend this restaurant.

The lobster, shrimp and crab Mac & Cheese here is to die for. Huge bowl of it today for $15, and brought 1/2 of it home. Place is quiet. Service excellent. Will go again.

Shrimp & grits were the best! Would definitely order again. Warm yeast rolls melt in your mouth. Strawberry bread pudding to end the meal was delicious. Portion large enough for two.
