I really enjoy spicy food but this one was even a little bit too much for me. Despite that, still glad to see a hot chicken joint that that's actually hot.

Caroline really makes this Hattie B’s a wonderful experience right from the very start! She is kind and is so helpful explaining the menu! First impression 11/10! I ordered the sandwich with a side of bacon grits and both were fantastic! I would highly recommend coming here if you visit Nashville. On the flip side, if you ever happen to find yourself in Maine, come visit me at Morning Moose Coffee! You won’t be disappointed!

I was in the Nashville location on 1/28 during my visit to the area. It was packed but everything moved quickly, efficiently and the staff was so very friendly to everyone. That didn’t stop just at the start but all throughout our time there. The lady helping us (her name was Isis, I believe) even followed back up with us on something. Her and the manager went above and beyond to take care of us on something we didn’t even ask them to. Btw, nothing happened, they were just out of something, it came back in and they took care of us. A measure most would not do but she found us and made sure to take care. Now THAT is friendly customer service! The food is so amazing, y’all. This is going to be my new joint for every single visit to Nashville from now on. Hot dayum!!

Better than Dave’s hot chicken

This was my first time at any Hattie B's. Now I know what all the talk is about. This is the best chain (maybe any kind) of bone in fried chicken I have had. You can tell it is cooked fresh. Nice crust. They offer various levels of heat. I chose medium (3rd on the scale). It was a little too hot for my liking. I will drop down to mild next time. I got the half bird so I could try both the dark and white meat. Both were good, but the dark meat wins out. The white was just a touch dry in spots (juicy overall). For sides, I got the potato salad and the black eyed pea salad. Both were good, but the potato salad wins. I wish they had hot black peas, mash potatoes with gravy, and rice as gravy as options, but they do not. They did have mac and cheese and fries as options. My friend got those and gave them high marks. Another added benefit is this chicken reheats great in an air fryer. The staff were friendly. We were there around 7:30 at night. It was a good crowd (mainly college aged) there. It is a nice area right near St. Vincent's Women and Children's Hospital.
