Outside area needed cleaning.
the atmosphere was nice
The best! Truly enjoyed all of our food. Wish we had one closer to home. And definitely will make a point to try to eat it anytime in Birmingham.

I've been to Hattie B's several times and I haven't had a less than great experience. The food is outstanding the service is friendly and appeasing, but the sitting is a little bit thigt.
Inside is a little loud, but overall great!
Do you like juicy, yummy chicken? They are serving it! I have had it with waffles there and it was fantastic! Also the pimento Mac and cheese is stupid good. Great service/cool staff!!
Music was a little loud for us old folks. But worth it to eat the very best chicken. We both ate dirty fries. Absolutely delicious!

Stopped on a road trip to Florida and found this place. Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and the guy working the counter was fun and helpful. If you get a chance, the food alone makes the stop worth it.
I’ve been going to this Hattie B’s for years, and it’s one of those restaurants where I know I’m going to get chicken so freshly fried that it’s going to scorch my mouth if I bite it immediately. Always good, very consistent.

The fried chicken was juicy and seasoned well, the greens were eh, but the reason I left 3 stars was the dessert. We ordered the peach cobbler and the banana pudding. Both tasted like they came straight from a plastic bag. The cobbler had no crust (the best part of cobbler in my opinion) so it was just peaches in a jelly. And the banana pudding tasted like it was made straight from a bad pudding. For a restaurant in the south, I expected better 🥺

A/c works great! Food is always great and so is service.
Had waffle and Nashville hot chicken.
Waffles good, seasoning on chicken was not pleasant. Just heavy dry hot pepper on top of fried chicken.
That’s coming from (me) a gardener that grows hot peppers and makes dry spice and sauce every year.
Collard greens were bitter, could use some sugar and seasoning.
Beans average.
