It’s a neat concept but I think the staff may still be working out some operational issues that’s not their fault. We went during a busy time and it came across a bit chaotic.
The staff was friendly trying to navigate the crowd, but the music was very loud (not chill and relaxing as expected) the tables are super close together and you have to order at the counter then try to find a seat, and then they wait on you at the table anyways. I understand it’s supposed to be a lounge but it’s really coming off as more of a busy restaurant but that could just be the new buzz of it. We’ll give it another go hopefully when it’s less crowded.
The food was excellent and we enjoyed our cappuccinos, they’re traditional cappuccinos which we appreciate. It’s very pretty inside and has a nice outdoor patio. I do recommend giving it a shot but try to lookout for less busy times. We want to come back for the live music as well. I definitely see the vision and appreciate the space in bham!

Great food, great drinks, and a really great atmosphere. Drinks and food are pretty good for pricing considering the quality, definitely a spot to be checked out if you haven't. I have the BLT, black bean bread pudding, and an old fashioned pictured. All of them were great.

We went around 11:45am for lunch and there was no wait, and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious! Good service too. They said they do not take reservations for lunch or dinner, even on nights with live music, so try to get there early if possible.
I love it. Great selection of drinks and food.
My only recommendation, make the Bourbon with ONE icecube.

Awesome place. We arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday and had to wait about 1.5 hours. They have an outdoor patio with fire pits/chairs/heaters so with drinks we didn’t mind the wait.
Food: Phenomenal. That truly sums it up. The only thing I won’t get again is the pimento cheese sandwich. Everything else we ate and saw looked spectacular.
Service: They were busy - I get it. We waited a while at our table for service. She was training another server, both were extremely kind! I had to go get her so she could take our order, again it was busy so I understood.
Overall 4/5 and I can’t wait to return to try other items!

So I am trying SO HARD to be fair to this place since it did open recently, but they made it extremely difficult to make excuses for them when probably everything that could go wrong, went wrong.
First of all, speaking to the social media team and being told to come into the establishment to place a reservation, making the drive there, and then being told that they actually don’t take reservations is not only inconvenient but inconsistent between the direct social contact and the direct establishment contact.
Secondly, the service upon entry was…not good to put it simply. Why they need 5 hosts, but seemingly very few servers is beyond me. The staff seems incredibly disorganized (which I’ll maybe say is due to being a new place) but the server assigned to us didn’t check in after over twenty minutes after initial seating and there was no communication/apology for extended delays on simple drinks, food, etc.
The food itself is a whole thing I have issue with. Simply stating the theme of the restaurant is truly not enough to justify bare minimum menu descriptions. For example, if an item says “deviled eggs” please describe what you offer because bringing out fried eggs with spices etc with zero warning and thinking it’s fine based on restaurant theming is a mistake. Knowing your customer base is important, and it’s sorely lacking here.
Overall, I think this had/maybe still has potential. It needs serious organization, the staff needs help, the menu needs to be updated (imo) and clear communication between staff members for establishment standards will be key.

NYC quality food & immaculate sound systems got married, then decided to move to Bham without charging insane prices. How did we get so lucky???
Seriously, High Dive is a GIFT to Birmingham & if we ever lose her I'm fighting all of you.
I personally loved the egg & cheese sandwich on Japanese milk bread. I didn't want meat so they offered an option to add an extra egg! The pork katsu was out-of-this-world good. Fried deviled eggs were also brilliant, but the little citrus zest to it was a little surprising.
We went for lunch counter service. No issues at all! Fast service, super clean, very pleasant all around.

I went by solo and saw several friends, sat down with a couple I don’t see enough, had cappuccino and a great time. We all remarked how we could hang out in there all day. Loved seeing the Dead movie and hearing the music. Despite the place being packed and music playing, you can whisper to your friend across the table and hear each other perfectly. The acoustics are crazy!

Fantastic venue! Love the cool late 70’s vibes they have created. I cannot wait to watch this space grow as the community continues to gather. Birmingham has needed a listening room and this spot is perfect.
It was early afternoon when we visited and the coffee was delicious!
