JaWanda's Sweet Potato Pies Bakery

We absolutely love Jawanda’s! We try and make it every year at least for thanksgiving. It is totally worth the wait and a chance to meet Jawanda who is super friendly and inviting. I encourage everyone to stop by. It’s kind of a Birmingham staple. Don’t forget to try out those mini pies as well! The coconut is my favorite. Thanks to the entire team that keeps this place up and running. It’s always nice and clean inside and the atmosphere makes you really feel at home! We love Jawanda! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Im Atrain visiting Alabama for work and was recommended to try Jawanda's. Had several different pies and all was amazing. I highly recommend for anyone looking for tasty sweets. Service was outstanding. Thank you so much. God bless.

I ordered a mini sweet potato pie and a slice of lemon pound cake. The pie was sweet…very sweet. The lemon flavor was overpowering in the first bite.

This bakery is never open not even on the one day they advertise that they are open. Why advertise your hours on Google but put handwritten signs in the window that you are closed. So disappointing!!!

The sweet potato pie isn't my style and it's not that good to me its not nasty but the nutmeg was just to much for me but that peach cobbler is on point 100% and that pound cake is heavenly will definitely return for those two items anytime I'm in the area. The customer service is awesome as well from JaWanda and the lady that was there last Friday ? and just because of the customer service alone I would return. Please go check this place out I'm sure you will like a few things here

I wanted to give this place a visit. It wasn't only about the pies but Mrs Jawanda as well. A very serene pleasant atmosphere. I'm glad I finally got up and made myself drive to the location. I have no regrets I ate a lie got prayer and still I left feeling so much better than when I arrober!Thank youMrs Jawanda..... T

Omg! Excellent! Great customer service. We went back today, for opening after the owner's surgery. My husband has been desperately awaiting the reopening. They baked our pies fresh and they are DELICIOUS!

You absolutely have to try these pies. One of the best things I’ve ever tasted. In addition to the amazing pies and cakes, the customer service here is absolutely impeccable. It was my first time visiting and I will, without a doubt, be returning for more! My grandmother passed away not too long ago. She use to bake sweet potato pies often and to walk in and not only smell that sweet smell of pies baking, but to also see one of my grandmother’s favorite scriptures across the wall “O taste and see that the Lord is good.” It felt like it was meant to be. Everything about this place made my entire morning!
