Just moved here, & I'm so thankful I found this hidden gem! I looked up over 20 places, & I didn't see what I wanted on the menu I'm so thankful I called in and asked if they have Tofu & they did! I made my own Tofu with broccoli, & fried rice with only egg/onion. They have the best prices affordable prices in Hoover! This will be my only to go spot for Chinese food. It's well worth the drive in a very beautiful neighborhood to the plaza. One of my favorite things is the crispy noodles 🤤 they make there's fresh next time I'm getting 10 bags because one wasn't enough. I will be getting food here weekly very generous with the portions almost enough for 3 meals. I highly recommend everyone try this spot, & if you don't see something on there menu just call & ask. Hidden gem thank you so much for the wonderful food.

Sesame chicken was disgusting. It was soggy sweet and sour deep fried chicken sprinkled with sesame seeds and a small amount of sesame chicken sauce. Ate 2 pieces and threw the rest away.

Beef teriyaki stick things were also disgusting. Dry and salty like beef jerky with no flavor.

All in all this meal was garbage.

The serving sizes are huge for the price—love that for me lol. The egg rolls were massive and super tasty. I even reheated one in the air fryer the next day and it stayed crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—impressive! I’m giving 4 out of 5 because I’ve had better Chinese food elsewhere, but this was still really good, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

We had an unusually long wait, possibly due to good business.

I have been eating here for over 10 years. I had the worst food I have ever gotten. I had Mongolian beef, not sweet, only 3 small pieces of green onion, very few noodles on the bottom, the sauce was like water.
I also had Moo Goo Gai Pan.
It looked like scraps that were scraped from old plates of food. Sauce was like water, only tiny scraps of chicken, very bland.
Egg rolls were cold and soggy, soups were without toufoo to speak of. With 2 soyps we only got 1 package of chips and with 2 egg rolls we only got 1 red sauce. This was 2 separate orders for 2 different people. Worst food I have ever gotten there. The guy that cooked my food was a very tall man. I threw away 90% of this food that I paid over $26.00 including tip. Very dissapointed and will not be coming back after all these years. Kathy Abercrombie

I had read on our neighborhood FB page that the food at at this long time favorite establishment has suffered in recent days. I was hesitant to believe the reviews as I have patronized and enjoyed the food from New China since I moved to Bluff Park, but my experience tonight proved the negative comments to be correct. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup. I thought surely this basic staple would be up to par. I'd enjoyed it multiple times in the past and found it the perfect blend of both hot and sour (with plenty of shrimp and chicken included). Paired with an order of their "normally crisp" (note the parentheses) egg rolls, this made for a comforting meal when I needed a lift. What a disappointment tonight! The soup was completely bland... neither hot nor sour. It tasted like plain old chicken soup heated up in a wok! I'd have been better served to have bought a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle from the Piggly Wiggly across the street and heated it up myself in a sauce pan on my stove. New China... please bring back Old China!
