Moving to Birmingham last year, were always in search of a 5 star sandwich shop. Today we found this hidden gem in Trussville, AL The quality of deli meat is top quality, the bread is delicious and the way they take their time making sure it's perfect just shows the outstanding customer service they deliver. It's super cute inside warm & welcoming. One of the best things about this restaurant is they have Gluten Free options that taste great. I Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back often.

Best salad i’ve ever had! I ordered the Caesar salad but I asked for no croutons because I’m gluten free. He went ahead and toasted me up some gluten free croutons for my salad and it made my day! Not many places put effort into offering gluten free options but they do! The salad tastes amazing and they have great customer service! 10/10!

Wow! First time here and just finished sharing a Reuben with the Dixie caviar as a side and the Red Bird salad with my wife. It's so incredibly good that I felt compelled to write this review immediately. The attention to each ingredient shines. Everything is fresh and delicious. 6/5 stars. Have down the best deli in the area. Staff is kind and attentive. Highly recommend it. We will be back.

I absolutely love this place, I don't get a chance to come as often as I would like. But when I do come, the food is magnificent. After living in New York for over 20 years, I always wanted to find a place that made homemade soups and sandwiches. I was so happy to find this place, because they used the best ingredients. You will not be able to find a better homemade soup anywhere around. I'm a scratch cook myself and I'm giving credit where it is due. You will not be disappointed if you try this place.

Red Birds did not disappoint!! I always complain about there being no sandwich shops on Chalkville mountain but now I have a go to. The broccoli cheddar soup was amazing and my sandwich was so well made and fresh! I’ll definitely be back 🩷

Nice family owned casual neighborhood type deli with a wide variety of menu items from which to choose. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lunches we've had there were good enough to bring us back to try other menu items. Being a small family business they don't make huge batches and by Saturday they may be out of some things as they were with potato salad one recent Saturday. There are other good items to pick as replacement.
Parking: Parking lot is shared with other businesses in the strip but there has never been a problem finding a spot.
Kid-friendliness: We have seen children eating there and there seems to be kid friendly menu items
Wheelchair accessibility: There are blue parking spaces and a ramp in front of the strip center.
