A great place for a drink and a wonderful venue for intimate shows.

I attended a storytelling event at True Story Brewing Co.

The event was well run and the event space, while on the smaller side, was setup nicely. The performers had some issues with the mics but things were resolved relatively quickly. The bartender was very attentive and kind.

Overall, I enjoyed the event and would return to the venue. The size of the bar (it's truly a nano bar) would not be ideal for large groups so FYI if you're planning a group outing.

Always super friendly staff, and awesome patrons as well. Really awesome atmosphere if you're there for one of their shows or just for a quick drink. Really my favorite place around.

Awesome time! Enjoyed great bands, tasty house made beef stew, a good selection of beers and other drinks plus personal touch service. Hats off to Craig and the team at True Story. Love what you bring to the Birmingham scene!

True story.
I heard from a friend that the last unflitered pure spring water in Alabama, possibly the southeast US, collects in two wells they keep locked up behind the bar.
They aren't supposed to let the public in for risk of contamination, since they use the water for the beer making - it's the secret ingredient - but if you catch the person in charge at a slow moment and ask politely she'll show them to you on the DL.
They're blue.

A true wonder of the natural world. And right there in bham of all places.

Still woke up with a hangover, but that was the bulleit that bit, not the beer.

I love this place so much! They always have the best shows from a variety of different genres. everybody is super welcoming and sweet. as somebody part of the LGBTQ community, I've felt welcomed here!

My hubs and I LOVE to frequent this delightful watering hole. Amanda spoils us rotten and Donovan is a fantastic dude!

This bar saved my marriage and my relationship with my children! Then I remembered that I have no wife and no kids, but they do always provide me an ice cold PBR and a good hot dog or massive pile of nachos. If you don’t drink here then you’re a communist.

LOVE TRUE STORY! Good food, cold beer and a fun time! Sometimes even Jell-O shots!

This place is amazing. I especially love going on Friday afternoons when Donovan is there. He is very personable and very funny.

Bad experience. Kids were excited about hot dogs and went in thinking wife and I would try some new beer. 2:40 pm so been open for a little bit. When I asked for a menu he said they’re not really serving food, while setting down food for a customer at the bar. Could tell he wasn’t excited we were there, in so we walked out.

got a real hassle at the door last time i tried to go to a show, they wouldn't take cards, only venmo. there was nobody in line but the person at the door was being a real pain about how long it was taking me to recover access to my venmo account to pay, as i had forgotten my password. t's not like i was in anybody's way. after a couple of moments of continuous nagging from the door person while i tried to recover access to my venmo account, i decided to spend my money elsewhere. there is no need to go out of your way to nag people the entire time they're trying to pay you. rude.
