Stopped by at 5:30 on a Friday and we were lucky to find a spot. We got a table and had the most friendly service imaginable from Amy . Brunswick stew was chunky with potatoes and pieces of meat in each bite and the bowl was served with 3 hush puppies! Got some of the smoked wings that are a special on the weekend during football season. Deeeelicious and gooey! Then came the loaded bake potato that was at least 8 inches long and overflowing with toppings and pork. My husband got a bbq plate with the special sides for the day of okra and sweet potato casserole. Neither of us had eaten prior to coming to dinner and left full and with to go bags of food.

Yessss the bbq! Everyone will tell you about it ....but the coleslaw....yumm meee....only a minute off the highway! Heads up...the parking lot will be filled up ...it's big ...they'll make room inside too! Thanks for the delicious food and friendly service! See you soon!

We walked in a big skeptical because of the reading, but we’re greeted by a very kind and knowledgeable waitress with a sweet sense of humor. Very knowledgeable of the menu and made good recommendations. We had two meals, a pork sandwich, and a pork platter with the sides and hush puppies, and everything was exceptional, including the service!

It's a shame that a simple glass of water from the tap (in a reusable plastic cup) is now costing 75cents. OK so that won't break the bank, but driving 20 minutes off the highway to get BBQ should at least get me a free cup of water. As a family of 7 that 75 cents adds to the bill quickly. Needless to say, we won't make the drive again and will stay more local for our own BBQ. Sorry Johnny's we have been eating with you for a few years, but you just lost us!

The potato was good , but the lady at the register wanted to charge more for extra barbecue sauce, she said on to go orders you have to pay more, but if you eat it there you don't, so I sit down and ate it there. Her attitude wasn't very good at all especially after that, but the food was great !!
Delicious and our waitress was so nice. We came to see Ave Maria Grotto and saw the parking lot full and that's our indication that food is great, and it was. My 9 year old daughter attempted to eat a pulled pork sandwidge the size of her face and amazingly got 75% of the way through. It was excellent BBQ and the most perfect french fries. My husband got the pulled pork plate and cleaned that sucker. Hope to go back next time we have a chance.
